The world isn't rational. His divorce probably wasn't rational. He obviously wasn't rational. He predetermined to wreak havoc and after that his anger fueled his commitment to his plan. Motivated by revenge, there would have been no thought to consequences, just blind rage.

I'm more surprised by peoples lack of understanding as to why these events occur.

It only takes one time, to be royally screwed over in a divorce proceedings, to see why. Doesn't excuse this behaviour, but it does exacerbate it. Prevention is said to be better than the cure. There really is no cure for this, but it could have been prevented. One day it might become mandatory to have councilling before, during, and after, heading down the path of divorce. The laws suck, and to be told your responsible for your own behaviour, when the laws are unjust, can be like a red rag to a bull.

At least the 8 year old survived, I hope she isn't disfigured. But she has her life, whereas it looks like her mom and grandparents do not. Some of the victims' stories are pretty harsh, one teenage boy fled the house screaming "He shot my family!" while another lady broke her ankle jumping out of a window. Not to mention those who were shot and survived. I imagine the 25 people running around in that house made it pure chaos. I feel for the families affected by this tragedy.

I was so disgusted I couldn't finish reading the story. I honestly don't know what's happening to this world. I'm just amazed the 8 year old girl survived being shot in the face.

I have a 8 year old and this story makes me want to vomit! Just the thought of a child being hurt in anyway especialy so brutialy is awful.( and celtic there is no humor in this not even a little.) I don't care if the man was going thru the worse divorce in history that doesn't give him cause to hurt innocent people. I've had family who went thru bad divorces and they didn't go postal. This whole world just sucks sometimes. MAN! now IM totally PISSED OFF! Think on this though, if this had happened on another day- would people be as outraged? It shouldn't be just christmas "crimes" that outrage. I wish I could have kicked the ^^^^ out of that guy before he did himself in. And Im glad he did himself in cause he would of gotten into the system and gotten some bogus sentence.... I feel a little better now.
