We need more photos of ape collections. :monkey5

It would be fun to see some "Where are they now?" photos.

In Storage, on self, in dog house, on the floor, in a mutant jail?

Let's see.

You can get sculpted out, as long as I can get casts of what you've accomplished.
I know for a fact I have current several molds of sculpts you do not have.

There were 44 cards in the original movie card set. I know I had some but I haven't worked on my card collection in years. I will look for them and you are more than welcome to whatever I have.

I don't want them as freebies. Let me know what you're willing to part with. Maybe I could cast some ape sculpts for you as a swap, if you're okay with that.

I have all of the cards sets complete (Movie, TV and Inkwork) but unfortunately I had no extras.

The only cards I'm missing in the Inkwork set is a few of the autograph cards. They can get a bit spendy for my taste.

Thanks ProtoZaius, never hurts to ask, especially when it comes to card collecting. BTW - I'll send you a PM tonight regarding you know what.

We need a new Apes card set. Something with really cool shots, custom art, .....

That’s exactly why I like the Conspiracy cards so much! These are very cool and “purty” cards.

lol, yeah, due to the cost, I slacked on them a bit. Glad I did though as I ended up getting them for about $100 each including shipping from a seller on eBay.

:woo Good for you TCM Hitchhiker!

Have you guys checked out Jessica's "little fighting elf project?" It is simply stellar! :)

Ironman - After opening my book I see that I actually have the following: 4, 5, 6, 11, 14, 15, 21, 23, 24, 25, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36 and 37. How many are in the set, do you even know? Looks like my guess of 50% is a little off.

I need to go look for my doubles. Where did I put them?

Ironman - By comparing the lists it seems I could use 1, 2, 7, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 26, 27, 28, and 41. I think I got that right. I'll PM you tonight and we'll work something out.

Yeah - I got theHunt Leader head sculpt. I modified him quite a bit. Remember me calling him "giraffe neck" beforehand? Lot of the other guys have or had him also.

Why do you ask?

Because I don't remember seeing him in your photos, but I remember him in Ironman's collection. Maybe I didn't recognize him because you modified him so much, but I DO remember the giraffe neck comment!!

Guess what, guys? I'm going to start up on my Mego scale market scene again! What was stopping me was not having the ape sculpts...but I see now the power of Super Sculpey...I've found my reference photos (Thanks, Angel!!) and I'll be studying them at lunchtime so I can ponder about how to jump start the project again.

My fighting elf project is almost done...need to sculpt only the following:

sword holding gloved hand (yikes! my first human hand!)
scabbard or sheath
vambrace (the arm thingy...new word for me!)
fix the boots
glue up the leather belts

and then
painting. Then I'll work on my market scene!! yay!

They are yours. I will include them with the stands and Cornelius.
In fact, if I rmember correctly, Sticks or PZ gave Ironman an extra one they had. Maybe you two could work something out if he's still got the extra Hunt Leader head.

That one is still off at the painter. <sigh> Hope to see it soon.

They are nice. Not exactly the artwork i'm looking forward to, but nice. Anyone know of any glimpses at any of the other Conspiracy artwork is available?

I still haven't found the Cornelius artwork that PZ had mentioned!! :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

I love the conspiracy cards. To me they are very purty, too.

I was a huge POTA fan when I was a kid, and I still am. I have all the Megos, Hasbros, most all of the Sideshow (missing the four rarest) and have the Hot Toys figures coming. I have all the movies, cartoons and TV show, as well as many of the comics, coloring books puzzles, magazines and things from back in the day.

Since some of you are obviously bigger fan, I've always had a question that maybe you can settle for me.

Was the TV show a continuation of what happened to the POTA after the nuclear blast at the end of Beneath the Planet of the Apes, or was the series the distant future after Battle for the Planet of the Apes?

I know Doctor Zaius was in both and normally you have to think that the planet survived after Beneath, but with all the time travel and history repeating, who knows.

The series was a seperate entity from any of the films made to stand on its own. The Dr. Zaius name was repeated but it was a totally different character from the films.

The ape TV series and movies are different animals for me. As a general rule I try to overlook the shortcomings of each progressive film and I enjoy on occasion the cheesiness of the TV series. I don't try to explain or make sense of anything.

It doesn't make sense that I still love the Planet of the Apes after all these years.

I could go along with that, but the episode where Dr. Zaius shows Burke and Virdon a gernade (which Urko uses later on), and tells them of others like them that almost destroyed the planet, leaves me doubting.

One thing to consider... Taylor and Brent were tooling around the remains of New York City. Burke and Virdon were in the San Francisco. So they were on the opposite sides of the country. :D

Same problem, the relocation can be explained because of the mutant bomb explosion destroying that side of the coast.
