Finally my Gorilla Soldier arrived yesterday!!!...now General Ursus has some companion!!...I really like both figures...those are so so cool!!...the only "thing" about the soldier is its teeth!! it looks a little dumb!!...well...nevermind...will post pics soon!

ha ha told you, pompy! the teeth really make the Hot Toys gorilla look stupid. other than that, he's gorgeous. his outfit and accessories are really stellar!

easy to slice off the teeth and give him a new set of teeth, but from the lower jaw with apoxie (air dry sculpting medium). or just live with it. a lot of people do. it's not really a big deal.

Yeah!!! I agree wonderful figure!!! will stick with it like that!!! I was thinking about doin' something about their wigs...but don't know how...will take pics and post them soon!!

SIx--forgot to mention to you that there is no fabric at JoAnn's that closely matches the Hot Toys gorilla purple. Also, the HT gorilla pants have been sprayed a watered down brown acrylic of some sort, to add a weathered effect. To achieve this HT gorilla purple you would have to dye fabric and experiment to get the right purple, and after construction, spray it with something to add weathering.

Thanks for trying. Tomorrow is a very important day for me. My wife and I are going to visit Matt at his Ape compound. I am dropping off all my material to get started. We are going to work on a good gameplan for custom figures. I'll keep you posted.. Its like xmas for me..

OMG--the 1:1 scale Sherlock Holmes jacket is 95% done. I just have to do the buttonholes and attach buttons. The owner will have to take it to a dry cleaners where they do minor alterations so that they can hem it up properly. I was so afraid to start this jacket, but glad I did it just to say that I did it.

I just broke my crochet hook last night. Darn it. Going to have to purchase another one...

Maybe its not one who has a likeness, perhaps a unique General in an unknown army of the sculptor's choosing.

The "General Ursus Bust" is 9 inches tall and is solid resin weighing in at five kilos. The helmet could be a bit bigger or the face smaller methinks. It was made in 1994. I don't remember how much it was going for--can't find it now. I figured if I really wanted one I could try to sculpt it myself. Plus if you have seen the Hot Toys General Ursus in person, this sculpt couldn't even dare to be compared.

But still exciting to see it pop up on Ebay just cause it's ape related and I had never seen it before.

I loved this TV series when I was a little kid, now I just bought it on DVD and...OH MY GOD!!!...how bad it is!!!...but the memories are great!
