Hey Josh. I was going to start a whole new thread on this but considering you have pretty much done the definitive Miller figure, I'll just ask your advice. I sourced what I think to be a fairly decent Ranger uniform for my Miller sculpt. My question is how did you get your body to look so "in scale" with the head. Im using a standard Dragon body. It seems to have a bit of a puffy chest which I think makes him look disproportionate. Should I just trim the chest down so the vest and jacket fit better or is there a specific body I should be using? Any help is appreciated. If youre not willing to divulge too much info, I understand. Thanks man.
-Ryan
P.S. The Sizemore sculpt should be in the mail to you soon so you can work your magic:D

That looks good to me already Ryan1982. If you look closely in the film Captain Miller "Tom Hanks" doesnt look too skiny.

I know you're thinking "Oh, no. Not another Miller!" But I really went to town this weekend and continued work on my Miller kitbash.

So far I'm really happy with him but he is, of course, a work in progress. I need to weather, the gun, helmet, and a few other items. I want to add a little metal paint to the buckles, etc. I have to say the best part is a new painted Longbow head sculpt I got from an artist named Pacobird.

Eager to hear your thoughts. Spent a ton of time weatherin the clothing with sandpaper and acrylics. Used some starch after water treatment so I'm curious to see how it holds.

AWESOME! :chew:chew:chew

Rugby: Your Miller is coming along nicely. Pacobird does some pretty nice paint aps. I have seen his stuff before. Great style. Post some more shots when you get it all finished. I have been thinkin about adding a base to mine just to add a bit more realism.

Thanks, Small. Your work really inspired me. The combination of your images and finding Pacobird's head in an auction really got me going. I actually bid on one of your Longbow heads at one point I believe but missed out due to bad timing.

I also want to do a base soon. Still haven't figured what to do yet.

To be honest, my long term goal is to do three Miller's. A Wet Normady Version with more of his gear on like the gas mask bag, etc. I also want to do a version from the climax where he is basically just wearing the M1941 Jacket and ammo back. This version will be really worn and dusty. I'd probably want to have him posed with destroyed tank gear and tread. We'll see.

I guess this version is from the middle of the film so maybe shrubs, etc, might work. I actually found a textured rustolium spray paint that should make for some nice sand or dirt. Have you ever used stuff like this?

This my first real bash, weathering work so any thoughts are helpful.

Gotta put yours up here, Les. I think I've only seen the head shot in your signature and would love to see the full figure.

Rugby: I have actually used a similar spray paint before. It works pretty good for adding texture but if you want the ground to really stand out i would use the dirt or sand they use for mini rail roads.

Les: Get yours posted man:chew

I saw this being sculpted over at the clubhouse a while back, really nice likeness. These paint ups and statues look great!
