Did anyone catch this tonight? I'm just starting it now on the old Tivo. Heard some good reviews. From what I understand, it's a modernized remake of The Wizard of Oz. Sounded pretty cool. I'm sure there will be enough encore episodes to catch it if you missed it the first time.

My initial comments:

I wish they filmed this in a better aspect ratio. As it was, had to watch in a distorted wide screen ratio.
Dorothy is a really bad actress, but she's likable enough, and cute enough.
Tinman's lack of a heart is a very cool interpretation.
this is a really interesting story.
The "scarecrow" guy without a brain reminds me of Pee Wee (in appearance only).
"nurture units", "Outer Zone" - Awesome.
Richard Dreyfuss as a junkie Wizard Mystic Man - again, Awesome.

Definately worth checking out, just know it's on Sci-Fi, so expect a little bit of cheese.

Edit: It's a mini-series. Don't want to give too much of a review and give away the story b4 people have had a chance to check it out.

i especially like the upcoming episode when the evil munchkins brand dorothy and peddle her on the thailand market.

I found it to be interesting. It's a different take, Zooey Deschanel , who was great in Elf, looks a little "lost" if you will, but overall it's very entertaining.

I forgot it was last night... although being a SciFi production my hopes aren't up too high. Maybe when they release it on DVD the aspect ratio won't be an issue.

After last night I could totally see Neil McDonough playing Roland in a film or TV adpatation of Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series.

I watched it last night caught most of it over the 3 times it repeated. Someone was asleep at the wheel when they are putting it up against the Heroes Season Finally tonight since NBC owns SciFi you would think someone would have said thats not a good idea.

My wife and I watched the first part this evening. We really enjoyed it an can't wait to watch tonight um.... tomorrow.

Wasn't the wicked witch "Clair" in BH 90210.

Remember that one time when she convinced Brandon that Lisa was going to the prom without... nevermind.

I completely had forgotten about this, but I am sure I will catch several encores of it this week. Heh.

It's good, but I am having a hard time loving it...Last night was interesting, I think I liked it better before the cave, sorry trying not to give anything away...

correction... Glitch (scarecrow) looks liek across between Pee Wee Herman AND Edward Scissorands.

Edit:

Part 2 comments:

If only wicked witch 90210 Clair could put her sucking powers to good use... :naughty
Rah (lion) is almost as "wussy" as he was in the original.
What does "DG" stand for? Dorothy __ ?
I think naming the series "tinman" was a little misleading. Story is more about the group.\/adventure, and not so much just the tinman. It made me think before seeing this that it would be about the tinman solely, which put me off a little. Glad it wasn't.
I wonder what the ES on DG's floating ballerina was. Lighed Bronze Exclusive??
the last third of this story really seems to have veered away for the W.O.Z. plot. I liked the similarities. Otherwise, just another Star Gate show (maybe that refernce works, I don't watch Star Gate).
A third episode? Gues that is the definition of a mini series. Don't know if it's warranted. Still enjoying it, but beignning to feel a little like work.
