At first I was going to say "no, it wasn't worth it". First thoughts were the cost of the hotel per night. :thud Then the 2-1/2 hour badging line in the afternoon sun with no bathroom in sight and nary a chance to keep hydrated. :tap Then the 1-1/2 hour line to get into Hall H on Friday morning (luckily, I was in the shade most of the time). :cuss Then the 50 minutes in line to pick up my GG pre-paid preorder. :censored Then the ba-ga-jillion people bumping, shoving, feeding-frenzying in the exhibition hall and the BS of folks bringing in strollers (yes STROLLERS fergawdssakes!!!! in an already crowded hall) pretending they had a kid that needed pushing around when they were using those strollers to put their loot into and as battering rams while yelling at the poor kids to "walk dammit!" Too big, too crowded, too stressful, too expensive.

Then..............I got past that and thought of the folks I relinked with from past Cons and the ones I got the meet for the first time. The great party, the GREAT Sideshow folks (Aimee -- I luvs ya!!!), Tin Fish, gorgeous weather and the off-shore breezes, the block-party atmosphere in the Gaslamp District after the Con closure every night. And dangit! I must admit, it WAS all worth it.

Being yelled at by Thomas Jane whom is saying "I am going to kick your ASS" While Frank Miller walks by PRICELESS

Bob, I can't believe we were only on opposite ends of the same hotel lobby... :monkey2

But Con was definitely worth it to me...

Even if I did lose my head at times.

:lol

The Con was and always is worth it for me. But I know I'm very spoiled. I don't have nearly the expense that most of you do. I get in free. I have a short drive down. I split a hotel like 6 ways with my pals... and I drink Darklord's free booze! Woot! Woot! Woot!

The con cost me like $46 this year.... muahahahahahaha! (kidding of course)

Can I stay with you at the con swab?

Good to hear!!!

This was the first time I had to park a mile away, and then the sight of that registration line stretching around the building all the way to the marina was a nasty shock after the 20-30 minute waits of past years. But once you get in and have the chance to say hi to a few familiar faces, it makes it fun and worthwhile. But it definitely stinks to go for just the afternoon--next time I am going to stay for three days no matter what.

True on all counts. I was there Wed - Sat (I skipped Sunday since there was no programming that interested me). The line to get my badge on Wednesday wasn't too bad but the rest of the weekend was a battle of the crowds. Bumping, being shoved, squeezing, and so on (especially in the 'movie studio' section of the exhibitors hall...hopefully those booths will be spread out a bit more next year instead of them all jammed together. I understand keeping like things together but having the huge crowds in that one section was problematic IMO). I was slightly annoyed after preview night was over and really pondered whether I'd go back next year (the crowds are just too much sometimes) but I came to my senses and know I'll be going back (I can't break my streak now that I've gone the past 6 years now :lol). All in all it was a great con (negatives aside). I was exhausted at the end of each day.

It's always worth it no matter the cost IMO. I too couldn't believe the nerve of people to not only bring strollers, which is stupid, but I swear, I saw one lady with a kid who couldn't have been more than a month old. Just craziness. Preview night was the best night and there were still about a million people there. I touched WAY too many people by accident, except for the times that I blamed it on an accident. Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. I found myself once or twice just walking into a line not knowing what it was for and waiting for about 20 minutes only to find out it was for anime or some other stupid crap. (that got annoying)

I was just kinda sad that I couldn't go to the freak party. When they are screening 300 on the giant screen at Petco Park at the same time as the party, sorry guys, 300 wins.

All in all, it was worth it when Kate Beckinsale just got up and talked. :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

It was well worth it for me. But then again, I live in CA and stay with relatives that live 15 minutes away from the Convention Center.

Comic Con grows every year so it's not surprising that we have to wait in longer lines and deal with an overcrowded exhibition hall. Lucky for me, there's guys like Death Caedus to accidentally bump into me.

I truly enjoyed finally meeting some of you Freaks and talking to Sideshow staff...which made all the bumping well worth it.

I can top the strollers, there was a guy who had his like 80 year mom with him, with not only a walker a wheelchair too. So he was pushing around an empty wheelchair while she tried to move using the wheelchair.

Thats not the one that bugs me the most. The worst are the morbidly obese people who have those damm scooter things. I hate those things. I almost got run over a few times. Last year I had my foot run over by one. I was so close to shoving his fat ass off the things. He didnt even care he said I should should watch out for him. The only think that should be allowed is wheelchairs and thats it, not strollers, no fat people scooters.
