I just called the 2 Hilton hotels and confirmed that they do have rooms blocked out for SDCC, however they are not taking reservations. They Rep I spoke with referred me to the SDCC website. It's starting to look like the only way of getting a nearby hotel may be to wait for SDCC to open their reservation system.
