Not to get too nerdy here, but the tie has to fit all of the tech to make the ship work into that little ball. Engine, controls, thrusters etc. The Falcon has all that in the greater portion of the ship.

It does from this film. She just doesn't look like her normal self.


It's why company's don't like to do large expressions Becuase people have a very hard time seeing those in the everyday look of an actor.
