Is this even coming out anymore?

I think its been two years now since it was previewed?

This was one piece I was really looking forward to seeing at SDCC 2012 and nothing....not even a rumor.

Its shocking Tron came out over 2 years ago and theirs only been 1 piece released on this huge franchise. Tron uprising is coming out next year and we still don't have anything on the first movie :gah:

The Baton and identity disk is the item I wanted most! Would love the lightcycle tho and I hope its not canceled cause Rinsler Didnt sell too well :/

That's b/c the pose for Rinzler looks terrible. If they would've done the crouching pose like he actually does in the movie/poster/promos and not the pose that looks like someone kicked him int he back of the knee, I'm pretty sure it would've sold better. I would'be bought it, that's for sure

My understanding is that the license is still active, but the sales on all the Tron pieces released thus far have been low. Sideshow, and HT are concentrating on current hot licenses.

With all the issues that occured with the Sam Flynn Lightcycle, and the Rinzler maquette (still not out) I would serioulsy doubt that we will see the 1:4 lightcycle, or the 1:1 baton/ disc set.

Bummer I was really looking forward to both of these items, but then again I don't want to buy a product that may simply break within a few months either. Not at those prices.

Thats the only reason i passed on Rinzler. Stupid pose ruins it imo

Yeah, seems to be a pretty niche audience for that kind of thing from this license. SSC is doing less and less of that nowadays. Add on top of that the fact that despite its niche appeal, this is Disney who would probably take a significant cut of profits, and I can see it being scrapped.

1/4 scale original Tron cycles could be very cool, though.

Agreed, I was hoping for something like this

Still, the bike would have been an instant order for me.

wasn't Quarra (sp?) supposed to come out too? I would probably get her and Rinzler, but that is about it.

They also said they had plans for 1:1 light disc replicas. Guess we are stuck with the low end toy ones from Spin Master.

It would be nice if SSC could confirm if this is dead or still in the works! Don't base it off sales of Rinzler, he has a very boring design. Had a maquette of Clu in his grid armor or Sam Flynn been done, it would likely have turned out differently.

If this is dead, I guess I'll settle for a hot toys lightcycle. Even though I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore hot toys.

I kind of had the impression that SSC were trying to stagger their Tron releases and the constant delays of the HT cycle screwed up the scheduling for both companies. I feel like neither company has delivered what was hoped for when they announced the license. I'm not sure how commercially viable the property is now, but people are still talking about it two years later so that's something I suppose.

Not sure if you heard of it but Tron Uprising is a fantastic animated series going on right now. Furthermore there is talk of a new Tron film in the works. This license is definitately not dead.

I had forgotten about the 1:4 scale light cycle! I would definitely be down for one if it was less then $600. As cool as the new one is, I'd like to get the original light cycle in 1:4 scale even more. Would also be down for a Quora PF. Definitely would prefer over the Rinzler.
