Im not expecting any statue coming out before 12 months after po.. pathetic but true

Nothing lasts forever, but my Darth Talon one still works and I like the option. We are paying the same as others that had the light up so this one better as well.

Darth Talon and earlier PFs used a single LED to light the saber. LEDs have very long life. But the new generation uses what looks like a mini florescent tube which won't have as long of a life. SS should have design as system to allow the sabers to be changeable if the bulbs failed or broke.

Oh, I see. That is why they look so much better then the older ones. A shame they don't make them easily replaceable, that would be an untapped market for them selling spare parts.

I wish someone would offer a "spares" service as Sideshow wont.
If you buy a statue from a third party seller (say off eBay) then if a part is damaged trying to get a replacement is a tough job.

Sideshow won't even sell you a spare.

There's money to be made.

Not to mention it is just good service for expensive products, no spare parts is kind of discouraging to the hobby.

:exactly::goodpost: this is what frustrates me most in this hobby.

Hey guys,

Im new to all this! My favourite Jedi of all time is Shaak Ti. I saw her PF figure and fell in love with it! I have seen a few others i like as well. So I may start a collection.

Just wondering how much is the total cost for shipping to the UK if you pre-order from SS?

When you add it to cart they have an option to ask them for a shipping quote.

Just remember, unless you're getting the Exclusive version it's best getting it from a local comic retailer (i.e. forbidden planet or collectibles direct) as the cost works out cheaper.

Once you've factored in shipping and customs, I think you pay slightly more, but for the EX it's worth the extra cost as the value rises more than the regular in the secondary market.

To be honest, I don't think you can request a shipping cost for a pre-order item. I've tried several times and am still yet to receive one, as I believe it is all weight based.

I actually prefer the regular over the exclusive. You would think the ex would be more but its the same price as the reg.

I am totally new to this, I don't own a single statue, i've been into a forbidden planet before. Do they usually always stock the PF items? If so for how much? My only reserve with that is if once she is released I can't find her in the UK then her price goes sky high like the other PF I want, Darth Talon.

Have you bought from SS before? How much is delivery usually for a PF if you have?

Sorry for all the questions you seem like your experienced in collecting.

You're right, the EX is the same price as the REG but it's not worth buying direct from SS unless you are getting the EX as the shipping and customs tax will work out more expensive than buying the regular from a UK distributor.

Forbidden Planet normally have all of the PF's but they only have a limited number so may sell out quickly. CollectibleDirect.co.uk is a good bet as you can choose a flexpay method. You can put down a non-refundable 10% deposit and then pay installments as and when. The owner (microdragon) is on the boards somewhere and I can heartily recommend him for providing a great service.

I have a few pre-orders from SS so still waiting to find out about shipping costs. It varies due to the size and weight of the statue but from other posters I think the average is around $40.

I wouldn't worry about most of these selling out before they are released. The edition sizes have been steadily growing so the newer statues availability is increased meaning you should have plenty of time to pick one up.

Thanks, I have checked out both websites. Collectiblesdirect seems the better option they have free delivery as well. It may sound like a silly question but with the flex pay do you pay any sort of interest?

Also how would it work if i did buy from say collectibles direct and the item arrived damaged. I know if you buy directly from SS they send replacements.

I can't decide on what to do really
Collectibles are selling her for £280 = $440
SS is selling her for $380 = £240 so delivery would have to be over $60 for it to be the worser deal?

I can't get over how great she looks!

Nope, no interest on Flexpay payments.

Get her any way you can so that you're not left without one when the dust settles.
