Definitely a “D’OH!” moment when I decided to get it wet and wash it off.

That is a good point. Would a dull coat work to protect it when the website says don’t get it wet?

Before the “D’ohment” my wife said the eyes didn’t look right. I told her I would gloss them then they would be fine.
After reading info on Shapeways, it says not to get sandstone wet at all.
I am thinking that even glossing the eyes might be a mistake.

Ouch!
It stands in the material description about the water. I think I read somewhere they do coat it with something, but I read it maybe on Sculpteo website.
I also had several white dots but I removed them with the fingernail. With mine the color was printed correctly underneath and the white support material was just hardened on several places but it was easy to remove.
You can always use inner-side of the head to check treatment for some color/chemical since it is also painted the same way. Just don't use something that will dissolve sandstone binder.

Great work James!!! You are fast. The only thing I would change is the Howard's hair.

@Lanyey74 I don't have much time, so I will first finish about 7-8 other figures I started when I get to it, but this is just one of my hobbies so it's not a priority.

I have been working on a top secret project for my Girl friend this Christmas and I would like to show you all now. I'm not going to put it on my blog just yet or on facebook because I dont want her to see it yet. But Im quite pleased how it turned out. I hope you all like it. I present to you all Dr Sheldon Cooper.

Dude!!! That is so freaking cool. I love all the details you put into the accessories. I love it. I want one too. Any chance you will sell copies of the box and accessories?

Amazing job Greggo! What material did you print the head in?
I got it in Frosted Ultra Detail but there are print lines across it, doesn't look as neat as your head.
Did you cast it? Would you consider doing a run of the entire figure, packaging and all accessories included?
Yours looks superb I can't believe how good it looks.

Hey Everyone thank you for all your comments. I'm not sure at the moment if I will be offering the Accessories at the moment as they take some time to make. But you never know. Mine was printed in Frosted Ultra Detail. How you get rid of the lines is you do a wet spray. Basically with a primer spray you spray it close to the head but be careful you don't lose too much detail. But no I didnt cast it at all. Its a great looking sculpt. Thanks again for your comments.

Wow Greggo! You have put so much work in this and it looks amazing! It is so fun and unique gift.
I am so glad now I enabled 3d printing of Sheldon. You gave me motivation to continue sculpting.

how did you create the box greg, would like to know process and see if i could make some similar for my figs

My 3d print of Wentworth Miller arrived, and this time I printed it in "White Strong and Flexible Polished" since it was the cheapest material, and I can recommend it. It is much better than "White Detail" since it has no printing lines, and is much more detailed... and cheaper.

I can not compare it to Frosted Ultra Detail since I never printed anything in that material, but this might be good cheap alternative.

@ milosp. Thank you for the great sculpt :) My girlfriend will love it :) This was printed in the frosted ultra detail I still needed to get rid of some of the print lines but overall looked great. I want to do the other 3 boys from the series, were you working on a Leonard?

@ georgieboy26. I bought a muscle figure which had a tray inside it. So I used that and created a cutterform of a box then designed the box buddy.
