Loved the sequels! The sequels were not as acessable as the first one but they weren't trying to redo the first one. They tried to make live action anime films and they succeeded.

Yeah, the Wachowskis were "damned if they did and damned if they didn't" make carbon copies of the original. I for one am glad they didn't.

It's impossible to follow up a classic like the first Matrix. That said, I loved Reloaded and was disappointed with Revolutions initially. After a looong break, I did some reading about the general philosophy behind the movies and picked up on a lot that I didn't put together on first viewing of Revolutions. I'm really satisfied with the trilogy as whole now. I know some would argue that you shouldn't have to venture outside the films to really "get" them, some say they got it and still don't like them. I feel like the brothers W went for something really challenging and that's really bold to do with a blockbuster series. There's just too much that works so beautifully to sweat the low points.
I own the Medicom Neo and it's one of my favorite figures, but variety is the spice of life. Do it, Hot Toys.:D

I think films should be applauded for being intellectual. And, while there was a lot of a$$-kickin' in the Matrix trilogy, that wasn't the main point behind the films. They set out to create a complex trilogy, not a mindless action adventure. Part 2 and 3 continued the story well and opened up the more philosophical elements of the Matrix mythos. And, with the dreck Hollywood likes to throw at us ... I think a series of films like these that beg analysis and debate are a good thing. And you have to give the producers of the trilogy credit ... they allowed their most vocal critics to do a commentary track on the Ultimate DVD set. They knew they had something special so they welcomed all views.

While it's just my opinion, the Matrix sequels suffered from "Phantom Menace" syndrome. Yeah, I am sure someone will make a bad movie pun ... here, let me wait for you to think one up ... enough time? Okay, back on topic. The first film was so amazing, so groundbreaking, so fresh that the W. Brothers had no chance of recreating that in the sequels. They attempted to add depth to the original premise. Yes, it weakened the action, which is why many people feel the films are weak themselves. However, it also strengthened the narratives and mythos. And, I for one, feel that created a better trilogy.

I don't the quality or liking of a film has anything to do with wanting figures of characters.

Look at star whore, the Prequels have the "me too" they suck vibe, but the sheeple still buy endless stuff from those movies.

I'm sure quality Matrix figures from all 3 films would sell.

It just seems more likely people would buy merchandise from a movie they liked.

Though as mentioned above, a lot of people (myself included) appreciate the Matrix trilogy for its concepts rather than the quality of the films.

Dude, I would buy the whole damn set. Lobby battle Neo, Reloaded/Revolutions Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, Agent Smith, the Twins.... it's all good there. I loved the films and the designs of the characters. I'd be hooked immediately. :rock
