I'm a member of club nintendo where you get rewards for buying games and was wondering if hot toys should do the same, maybe include a code to redeem online?
They can start small with shirts and build up to exclussives.

Not sure how workable it would be, they don't sell direct to the public.

For America, Sideshow offers reward points. Since I only buy Hot Toys
from them, it just like having Hot Toys do it.

I've never ordered directly from Sideshow. Their prices always seem slightly above lower retailers. But these points go towards other purchases, like a discount? Nice.

Same here. And this is mostly because of their huge international shipping costs, to that I have to add customs taxes and 19% VAT tax since I live in EU. So I prefer ordering from other retailers. But I agree SS has a great customer service.

Strangely cos all the local dealers seem to gouge there isn't a hell of a lot of difference between buying in Australia and order direct from Sideshow - except I get the exclusive version and get it about a month earlier and collect rewards points.

They have something similar for loyal customers of Toy Hunters (which is Hot Toys' retail arm in HK).

more like a rehab program haha....but back on topic...it would be nice if they could set something up outside of Hong Kong. My cousin is a VIP member at Toy Hunters and he gets the chance to pick up some of the bonus stuff they throw in like Dutch's headset and the Iron Man Mk.II bust.

To be realistic...I'm sure most collectors don't want to cut up the box to send in a UPC code or something so they could insert a slip inside taped to the back of the tray...we could use the code and build points on a seperate website then they could possibly produce small items such as hats or shirts and possibly minor accessories (TDK Sticky bomb gun or alternate head etc..) that can be redeemed

Nice idea, but I bet a lot of traders (especially on eBay) might swipe them to sell the exclusive 'bonus' items for a hefty profit... might work though!

AlterEgo does a reward plan and they offer lower prices than retail at SS, which you can use on anything at their store. Plus, AlterEgo usually has some of the lowest prices you'll find on Hot Toys.

Just so you know:

1 point per dollar spent.

1 point is equal to 1 cent.

So it takes quite awhile to build up the reward points.

Eh, not really. Last year around this time I had enough points to take $90 off Vader and I was saving them since the program started.. Right now I can save $60 bucks and that's just with what I have available. A few things arent past the 45 day window yet. By the end of the year I will have enough for a free figure probably.

Edit: Actually after crunching the numbers, for everything I have in hand RIGHT now, once they convert I will have $100 in points. So depending what you buy and how often, the points stack up quickly.

You're right, if you buy alot, especially PFs, but I don't think the OP buys too many of those. Plus I think he was looking at receiving more for his purchases. When you think about it, $3.00 for a $300 PF really isn't a whole awful lot. I'm not complaining though because SS doesn't have to do anything at all!

Plus SS has contests, special events and gift card giveaways alot.

Actually Ween, sad as this may be, most of mine come solely from 1/6 scale stuff and of that nearly all of it has been Star Wars. But lately I got a boost from the Hot Toys stuff. I think, in a way, with the close partnership HT and SS have this is sort of their reward system plus SS and Toy Hunters often share exclusive items. In the end I would say if you want some sort of reward then bite the cost and go through SS as I don't see HT directly starting any reward system, plus if you arent in HK I don't think they would extend it to you anyway. SS is HT US arm, or so it would seem, but maybe that will change after SDCC.
