I think a bust line in the $100 - $125 range would be a great way for Sideshow to augment some of their lines with B- and C-tier characters.

I've been considering picking up some of the old LotR busts to round out the PF line, although would like to at least see Gimli and Arwen as PFs. Granted some of those are terrible, but others aren't bad, especially with a repaint. It might be the only way to get characters like Sam, Merry, Pippen, Saruman, MoS, etc. And maybe SS could release others like Denethor, Eowyn and Faramir.

I'm not a fan of the LSBs and the 1:1 are just too friggin' big beyond picking up a few. That said, a line of 1:4 busts could really augment the Marvel, DC and Star Wars lines. I'd like to see characters like Marvel's Fantastic Four, Iron Fist, Havok, Polaris, Quicksilver, etc.; DC's Supergirl, Batgirl, Nightwing, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, etc.; Star Wars Lando, Xizor, Savage Opress, and various Clones, etc. but the chances of them in 1:4 PFs are virtually zero. Busts (preferably with arms) would be the next best thing. Plus SS could do improved likenesses for some existing pieces --one selling point could be making heads removable and interchangeable with existing PFs like Havok and Psylocke.
They could also give some attention to neglected licenses like Avatar (Jake Sully), Conan (Thulsa Doom)and Star Trek (i.e. redo the busts with better likenesses and arms and expand the line to include the bridge and station crews from all the series).
If not SS proper, maybe a partner company could get licenses to produce 1:4 scale busts since no one is really doing it these days other than the odd Hot Toys.
