As I said, I'm leaning towards subject/license rather than manufacturer. But is Alien/Predator/Terminator the best definition for it?

At this point, I would say that is the definition to go by. Can anyone think of anything better I wonder?

Aliens/Predator/Terminator sounds fine to me to group those 3 very popular licenses into a unified forum. I'm fine with that.

I suppose you could call it "ALIENS AND ROBOTS" -- to cover the 3 big licenses plus anything like Robocop or Replicants or whatever -- but it sounds a little cheesy.

Maybe something like "MODERN SCI-FI" is better.

I think Aliens & Androids sounds better than Robots. That's kind of an archaic term now. Or maybe Aliens & Cyborgs.

Sarah: "A machine? Like a robot?"
Reese: "Not a robot. A Cyborg. Cybernetic Organism."

Just make a Medicom and Hot Toys forum. SideShow imports both companies lines. It's the most logical to what is after all, SideShow message boards!

Add in RoboCop and you've got it.

Also, I have a strong preference that the military and historical forum stay around. There's lots of new stuff coming out from manufacturers (Dragon, BBI, DiD, Ignite, Hot Toys) other than Sideshow all the time, and is its presence really hurting anything? In the future there will be a lot more to talk about on these subjects than there will in, for example, Whedonville. ;)

For that matter, it would make logical sense for discussion of things like Rambo to come in that forum, but I don't know how to draw that distinction logically. I just like having a forum for discussion of "real world" subjects distinct from the science fiction ones, though obviously there would be some crosstalk.

Bah. Just break out Aliens/Predator/Terminator/Robocop and see what happens, then maybe do some more consolidation from there.

I agree, keep the millitary forum. In part because it just seems odd to make postings about anything that's covered in that forum here in the general forum and also becuase it's part of 1:6 figure heritage.
