I think now it's time to also start working on the AOD Evil Ash figure... stock one isn't too bad; but I think upgrading the body, dirtying him up a bit and repainting some areas will really make him shine.

And it gives me another project to tackle :lol

Yeah, it's a pretty giant noggin'. Probably can't do a lot for that, but I plan to swap the figure over to a Pro 1.1 and do some weathering/repainting to make him at least a bit more polished looking.

In all honestly the parts on him (armor and what-not) are pretty impressive; but its an older figure and suffers from many of the same issues older figures have.

It's still an impressive figure, especially for the price it can be found. I'll always have a love/appreciation for the SS 1/6th horror line. They're still some of my favorites in the collection.

Re watching the blu ray extras for ED2 and I gotta say, if you haven't seen them, go buy the blu ray right now. Really fun watch.

Are they better quality than the DVDs? I know a lot of films are getting released, but look like *** since no one bothers to clean them up for the transfer.

Also, I love my Book of the Dead packaging, so I'm reluctant to give those up :lol

I only have ED2 on blu ray ATM. Waiting for them to release a box set on blu which is bound to happen sooner or later. The quality difference is for sure there. Worth the $10 I paid through walmart.com. You of course have got to keep the BOTD versions. I will never get rid of mine, such a good idea. Have you ever seen the Necronomicon hand puppet?

Well, I started about about 8pm tonight and finished up around 12a. Had a little marathon of customizin old Evil Ash.

So first; here's the before of Evil Ash taken right around 8p last night:

And on display:

In all I did the following mods:
Body swapped to a Pro 1.1
Reshaped and glossed the armor
Gave the clothing and cape a tea bath and weathered with paints
Repainted the head, helmet, hands and sword.

Pretty much a redo from top to bottom, but with the excecption of the body its all the original figure.

Yes, that is from Beto and I think that was the first Evil Dead one he offered. So maybe the 2nd Ash head... it was painted by Elvis1976 to match the Wolervine body.

Once I get my harness in I'll be finishing him.

Thanks Hicks; so turns out the Sideshow figure had the sword on the wrong side of the body. So I switched sides and removed the scabbard as that was also incorrect. But interesting the leather belt and holdler for the scabbard was correct so it ended up being a very easy fix:

I so badly regret purchasing an evil dead Ash from darkartist over 3 years ago. 170$ lighter, and havent received a thing at all.

Luckily there's this thread to keep my spirit up, great job Beto! Hopefully one day Darkartist will come through so I can put your headsculpt on the body.

Some truly epic Ashes in here!

Sorry to hear that... were you not part of the massive project to return items. A lot of people basically got boxes with parts in them, but it sounds like that would have helped in your situation.
