No poster was used in the Dewback picture. I added the background in Photoshop.
I actually have that many RAH Stormies. So there was no cloning in that last photo.

As if five Medicom stormtroopers weren't enough (slightly modified) … I just picked up two Marmit stormtrooper kits. Been reading about these old kits for over a year and finally dug up a couple that were price-y but not absolutely Crazy Town.
Debating on building the full kits with a body swap, or merely trying the helmet sculpts on a couple of Medicoms…I seem to recall someone back in the mists of time did that in this very thread, somewhere.
Anyone doing that currently? How satisfied are you with the result?

Better to modify the Medicom helmet than to swap it with a Marmit.
There's a great mod out there for the Medicom that makes it look VERY nice. It required that you simply heated up the helmet pinched it flat in the face a tiny bit to widen it, then paint the black strip over the eyes WHITE, to match the helmet, then put a new black strip over the eyes, but slightly over the lens frame so it looks like a real Sandtrooper, or more like a Marmit. That's what i would do.
Also, there are some different opinions on what body you should replace with. Right now I have two favorites, the TT Slim being the third on the list. I will never use a slim again....they just don't fill out the shoulders or the legs.

I've seen that on the Web…a user that went by the handle "Abake" did that, I think. Chinese site?
I've already heated and re-shaped the helmets on my Medicoms, but haven't gone so far as to alter the brows yet.
I've also noticed minor variations in the helmet proportions. Later releases of the Medicom trooper (as evidenced by the date stamp on the foot) seem to have slightly wider, less elongated helmets. It's subtle but I think you can see it, in-hand.
Thanks! What are your favourites? I replaced a broken trooper body with a RAH Naked 2, but even though it's slightly taller I don't think the proportions are correct for Marmit, so not sure what I ought to be looking for.

For the Marmits, the key is getting a body that has two things; Broad shoulders and Wide Leg stance.
The legs should have their thighs protrude past their waist, pretty substantially. Some bodies don't do that, like the Medicom body. On one of my Sideshow and Marmit mods and the armor clashes in their thighs and they looked off because the thigh armor was too close.
Here's an example of a good body to use, for extremely cheap price (9.99). The only negative on this body has a soft neck, and the neck is tall, so you would have to cut it a bit to fit a head on it. I bought one with a head and all the parts for 24.00, and the armor fits GREAT.

I also used this cheap rip off of a Hot Toys Narrow shoulder, but the legs are too long, so i had to cut them, shave some off and reattach them with plastic-weld.

The only thing with this body (I used it twice), is that the inner thighs are very close, so you have to ensure you build the thighs out away from the hips. You can go back and see my pics using this body a few pages back (243). I demonstrate different bodies after that on page 244 as well.
But, feel free to look on ebay. There's plenty of bodies out there. You just need wide shoulders and bigger hips than thighs. Just like the Marmit body.
I finally got the motivation to finish my Marmit Stormtrooper last week that I've had for over a year and was a WIP since my initial build up. The spark was finally getting a proper bodysuit off ebay, as they one it came with was aweful. I also made a custom fully functional holster out of faux leather, tried to make it as accurate as possible (except for the 2 small straps holding the holster, which are supposed to be beige, was I preferred black). In the end, I glossed his armor with pledge wax.
Here's the full recipe that I ended up using:

Body: old TT, with arms and legs sanded down to fit the armor
Hands: Sideshow GI Joe Cobra Viper, with Marmit armor added
Blaster: Sideshow Stormtrooper
Holster: made from scratch
Bodysuit: from ebay (originally intended for a Clone Trooper)
The Sandtrooper is still a WIP. I thought I was done with him a long time ago, but Seb's recent foray into Star Wars sparked my desire to repaint the armor completely and get rid of those Mr. Hankey stains. I also already made a holster for him, and have an ammo pouch that I still need to dye and attach.
