Logistics issues with a refund request. Looks like destroying the figure is cheaper than Shipping it back to Sideshow from South Africa. Gotta say this is not as fragile as one would think...

Ah, understood. I have to destroy a head and arm tonight and was examining the head last night; it is pretty solid and I think it would be difficult to break it while accessing the batteries.

Well thanks to all. With the falling Canadian dollar I had to cancel my pre-order for the Exclusive and I was on the edge of using my RP for this one until I saw this code. Love ordering from ThinkGeek so for $167 this was a no-brainer. Thanks! Now I can go back to plotting what I'm going to use my RP on.

Anyone who has had to destroy their 3PO- I'm looking for one of the little bars on the back of the hand (see photo below of missing piece on mine). If you have one I will buy it from you! Please let me know.

I received my replacement head and arm and destroyed the original parts as directed by SS. Before I ripped into the head I investigated a bit and found the reason why my original was hard to remove and replace. The replacement slides on and off so much easier!

At the base of the neck you can see a dark gap, where the gold ring doesn't come together; in my replacement there is no gap, freeing up the space which allows the head to be removed and replaced with ease.




I also found the neck is actually a free-floating ring that can be move up to expose the ball-and-socket joint of the neck.





Lastly, a pic of his head split open to expose his rusty innards!
