You're right, of course. Sideshow, like any business, has to make a profit. So they have to mark up their product by X percent in order to achieve that, which then means they can have an R&D department which can then develop more cool things like the probe droid.

And I'm sure if Sideshow started cutting corners it would show, and we would all complain about the lower quality.

But the way the prices are going, it's a wonder there's anyone left here on the boards buying stuff! Seriously, I'm amazed at how many NEW people are starting to join in this hobby. I started in 2008 when the prices of a Sideshow figure ran from $65 to $90, and HT's figures were around $130. That was already crazy expensive to me. The only reason I still buy is because I became addicted at that lower price. And once you're hooked, you're hooked! But how can newbies get hooked when the average Sideshow figure is now $150, and the average HT figure is $200?

why are companies producing so much TESB stuff in the year that is ROTJ's 30th anniversary?? Did they not know it was coming up? :cuckoo:

I put up a bunch of scans from a Jedi-focused movie magazine I picked up at the premiere in 1983. You can see full res in my photostream (link in sig).

Other than that, I just think that the collectibles producers are behind. ;)

It looks plenty big to me. It looks really cool too. At the Collectibles panel they did not show any images or talk about it except at the very end they said they are "trying to put sounds in it".
Great photos! Thanks for posting them, Travis (and welcome to the forum). Yep, definitely looks in scale to me. About as tall as the Tauntaun by the looks of things. Honestly I don't care how much it costs, if they make something that looks as good as the prototype, keeps all the articulation and adds lights and sound, I'll pick it up.

Awesome pics man! Really hope the Probe Droid gets made (in less than grevious time) a must have for my imagined Hoth set-up I'd like to do!
Well excited for this one :yess:

Lot's of nice detail. I hope it happens. Afraid of the price.

Yep. Form letter alright. But it was strange that it came the next day, after the original automatic reply when you submit your request.

Hey, it's worth a shot if it means getting that sweet, sweet probe droid!
