If they ever get around to #5, that one too.

By the time they get around to making #5 this one will probably resemble Harrison Ford:

I have been waiting for this guy for a long time. I already kind of passed through my 1/6 collecting phase around 2010 thru 2012. I am not really looking to add to what I already have and just sold Sideshow Beachhead. He was my only Sideshow figure besides Raiders Indy. Everything else is Hot Toys or Enterbay.
The Sideshow Indy isn't great, but his outfit looks ok and I have him on the bottom shelf of the detolf with the Chalice from Temple of Doom,....so you really can't see his face. Back when Hot Toys Indy came out I was ready to buy him but even though his accessories were great, I could not get past that the Sideshow crappy painted sculpt was more accurate.
I just wish Hot Toys would have made this figure. I feel like it should also have 2 sculpts. The blood from the nose is over pronounced and looks ridiculous. The cuts on the cheek are over pronounced as well. The base is cheap and a wasted opportunity. Hot Toys just made John Matrix with a nice rubber body so the arms look realistic. Why was this figure not treated the same way? Oh right, because Sideshow made it. It's 2016 and the arm joint on a Featured Arm looks like a toy and just as cheap as a Sideshow figure in 2009 regardless of the added paint and texture. Another missed opportunity.
Right, the long neck.......yeah, kind of seems that way...... No jacket as an accessory? Why not? Hot Toys often come with secondary outfits or jackets. Hot Toys Jack Joker came with an extra coat and cost the same as this guy? Sideshow being Cheap.
So, now, even though several people are claiming greatness, I cannot get off the fence whether or not to pull the trigger on this guy as my featured Indy.

Perhaps Hot Toys revisits the License when the new film is released? I really like TOD. Oh, what to do?......

WOW! That's a fantastic comparison right there, thank you Robbie.

I still don't get the love for the Han Hoth.

The SS Indy and HT Han look about on par to me.

The clear winner is in the center -- that is an awesomely painted one BTW. Grail piece right there.

Eh - I think the pic shows what poor choices we really have. The MJ has looked good to me in only one paint-up (there it looked incredible for some reason) - all the rest of the pics it has a Sean-Penn-in-a-fedora vibe with some HF from certain angles, yet I like the expression. I think I like Ingiou V1 best in terms of likeness, though even that reminds me of the failed Warrior's Gate Prod non-smiling head.

In terms of likeness in that line-up I'd say the SSC TOD has the edge. It actually has a bit of expression too, unlike the death mask of HT Han (the enduring problem of HT sculpts - at best they are Madame Tussaud's "characters stuffed" sculpts, not the living character in an iconic moment.)

Unfortunately the pic proves just how small the SSC TOD head is. These are not jumbo older SSC heads it's alongside either - these are mostly fairly recent, and some have been called out as a little small themselves.

I find it fascinating how much variation there can be in 1/6 head sizes - even today - and how there seems to be a steady shrinking of 1/6 head size over the past couple of years. Seems SSC has jumped over to the dark side with this head (the Hoth ones were a little smaller than previous SSC, but still a size larger than the average HT.)

And the SSC Han Hoth is weird - it does look awful there and indeed in nearly every pic but in-hand the likeness is there and it somehow works for some unknown reason (I have it on a HT stormie body.) That is, if you can see past the lack of sculpt detail, purplish-dark-tan paint and eyes that look like a scalpel has delicately sliced off his eyelids.:dunno:lol

Jeez it s*cks to be a HF 1/6 fan.:lecture

Size wise i meant. If you put either of those Han hairstyles on the SS there wouldn't be much in it.

Man thay asian han looks baadddddd. Also now i realise how crapy hot toys effort was. Mj looks good here, but too oversized from what i've seen

That photo above is going to become a classic in time. Robbie, you need to autograph that digitally.

:exactly:

Would be great to mix these in with the older SSC heads to get an idea of scale. I still kind of like the SSC KOTCS sculpt even though it's overscale and the apps dated.

What a resource for customizers going forward to see every HF sculpt of the last ten years side-by-side.

The one in the middle looks great, but why is he wearing his little brother's hat?

Also, kind of hard to make a size comparison when these head aren't actually sitting next to each other, but are Photoshopped to appear as if they are. Just sayin

They are sitting next to each other in my original picture. Just saying.

It's interesting to me how we all can see sculpts differently. Lining them up, none of them look like Harrison Ford. The one in the middle looks like Kenny Rogers to me.

I'm not trying to shoot down anyone who loves any of these sculpts. If they work for you, great. I've just not seen one that looks right for me.

I think the hat looks better (not as big) when it's worn like this.
