I'm beginning to realize that Raiders may be my all-time favorite movie in terms of watching it over - maybe more so than ESB, which was always my fave.

I really had thought this 4K disc was just more of the same - ie not a hugely noticeable improvement. But maybe time to grab the new 4K disc as an upgrade to my regular Blu-Ray and get the new 4K TV and player (which I was starting to mull getting, even if my current TV and player are a bit old but work fine.) I guess I'll start shopping in the next week or two, and there are some good deals on the 4K disc too.
That’s because for ESB to achieve its full potential it needs ANH where Raiders achieves greatness on its own.

That being said nothing can touch the one two punch of AHN/ESB definitely nothing from the Indy series.

What other great consecutive one two punches are out there.

Not many!

Alien/Aliens
T1/T2
Superman 1/2
Godfather 1/2
BB/TDK
Spiderman 1/2

How about that rare hat trick!

FOTR/TTT/ROTK :panic:

But the one-two punch of Star Wars leaves the story utterly unfinished.

ANH/ESB.... yeah, then what?

You really need ROTJ to finish it up. Which sucks because ROTJ basically sucks.

Unfinished things are no good. Imagine if your wife left you unfinished every time.

Hense why it doesn’t get to hang out with LOTR in the hat trick category lol

I don't think ROTJ sucked but it did disappoint with the Endor sub-plot involving the ewoks. It was a grimacing issue even back when I saw the film the very first time, as a kid. Truly childish but product marketing had taken control of the franchise, by then.

The Luke - Vader - Emperor confrontations were the obvious highlights and were required to complete the trilogy.

And the LOTR film trilogy is indeed a rare work of art.

After being immersed in 4k Indy the past few weeks, i did a little more work on this figure...

I replaced the holster with the old SS Raiders version...which i've reworked. I prefer it's more accurate fastener too.

Made a new strap and buckle for the satchel and repainted both whips. Touched up the face paint again along with the Medicom hat. I'm back and forth on this and the HT hat, but i prefer the shape of the Medi for TOD Indy.

I also weathered up the clothes...

Fantastic work, matrix.
Well... its an admirable attempt... the coloring looks great... but there's those crazy pockets with the oversized flaps. And as usual, the jacket is short.
Thanks again guys...That old SS jacket has a lot wrong with it alright...but you could always tuck the flaps into the pockets and yank the pants up higher to disguise it's inaccuracies:)

I wasn't entirely happy with the old Medicom hat as it's hard to shape the brim in order to get to look right...and the band is little too wide looking.
I made a new hat by using the brim from the old Raiders SS and the crown from the Treasure Hunter versions. (I did fill out the crown a tad as it's slightly too narrow) Painted it up and added a band.
It was a kind of experiment but i'm happy with the results as it has more of a TOD vibe...

That looks great, matrix.

I have the Treasure Hunter version and the hat just looks too small, all around. At least to me. If the brim was a bit wider, that may help.

Thanks, yes the Hunter hat is a tad on the small side alright, but the crown works pretty good for a TOD version where the crown was slightly shorter and tapered inwards towards the top.
