Love my 1.0 too.
It's funny because it was only last night I was looking at him and wondering what he would look like on the 2.0 throne, as I can't remember if I ever tried that.
He was a bargain as well. Happened to spot him on Ebay years ago and got him for £40 delivered as I was the only bidder.

And that's what is holding me back from the Sideshow v2. Seeing the HT Dewback go up makes the idea of HT producing the Hutt not quite so out there..

$700 makes a good start for HT to start drooling. I'd say they are already investigating a Jabba set up.

No doubt an HT Jabba would have SERS. Problem is it could be made of rubber which we know what that would entail. I’d still buy of course despite having both SS Jabba’s lol.
The HT Dewback was solely developed for its appearance in Mando, but was subsequently turned into sorta Mando/sorta ANH version due to poor Blurrg sales and S3 taking the sheen off of Mando as a series.
Jabba (ie. not just another Hutt like in BOBF) appearing in a D+ show or new movie is about the only way we'll ever see a HT Jabba. Same goes for a HT Tauntaun - ie if Mando goes to an ice planet and rides a Taun in S4.

A bit sad we'll never get a HT slave Leia - what an awesome figure it would be. And a major seller, but Disney would never allow it (nobody even 15 years ago would have believed a company like Disney would so rapidly rise to become king of woke.)
I have two of the third party/ebay slave Leias and they are fine enough, but they're about a 6/10 compared to what a HT Leia with a determined expression new sculpt, fully real hair and ponytail, accurately sculpted bikini (I hate the sculpt on the third party bikinis) and perfectly matched head/body color would be.

Still hoping for a Hot Toys upgraded Jabba, but the Sideshow offering still holds up well enough.

Mmm, based on that Salacious Crumb that came with the HT ROTJ 3PO - which looked like a Hasbro 4" scale fig blown up to 1/6 - can't wait to see what they come up with for Jabba. 
But yeah would be really interesting/exciting to see, but with the new HT Dewback landing only a smidge better than the old SSC Dewback, not sure a HT Jabba is in reality going to be a night-and-day upgrade to the SSC Jabbas, even though there are aspects of the SSC Jabba v.2 I hate (those stupid-huge arms, laughable fragile Salacious - with sculpted not real fur no less - and goofy tongue-out jaw insert being top of the list)

The original SSC Jabba is still the more accurate sculpt, only the paint job lets it down. The only upgrade on the 2.0 is the actual transparent hooka and frog bowl.
V.1 is a little undersized but I do prefer that sculpt and have just bought some paints to repaint it a bit because yeah terrible factory paint. That one is my droopy tongue-out dead Jabba (displayed off the throne next to Leia slave and R2 with zapper) which I should be finished with in a month or so.
I have done a lot of upgrades to my V.2 - casts of the V.1 arms, and I'm also doing a cast of its lower jaw to use that as well as I think the sculpt of the V.2 jaw is a bit rough and not quite right. It'll be a magnetic insert like the included jawpieces. I also added real fur to my Salacious Crumbs (I cast the body and created a second Salacious using the rest of the included parts to go with my "hero" Bib display.)
I do like how the V.2 has the straight tail because Jabba is like that for many/most scenes. I wasn't expecting to be blown away when I ordered the V.2 but overall it is a super impressive piece - sheer size and paint apps - and beyond the arms and jaw the sculpt really is excellent.

yeah i am glad i got him 5 years ago thanks to that stimulus money from covid i bought him. my folks thought i bought a casket when it was delivered as that`s how big that box was
