I personally hope 3po is $180 for just him but with extra's i could see that price going up.

Some people thought R2 was going to be $250. That was just not realistic. The set of both droids will definitely be less than the Tama 3PO.

I was one of those convinced that R2 would be $220 and up. Irrespective of what people thought it was 'worth', I think a lot of folks have become conditioned to outrageously high prices. R2 has recalibrated those expectations nicely - $180 or less for 3PO would be awesome.

Yeah, I had no idea what to expect after Vader. R2 genuinely strikes me as a far more ambitious figure.

Having the Battle Droids price pointed out to me cleared things right up (I didn't buy them, so I never noticed). Now I look at Vader and scratch my head. I'm wondering how I could have paid that much and not even got a lightsaber I liked.

I don't recall a single person who has the Tama 3PO express concern that a SS release would diminish the exclusivity of that figure. The general concensus appears to be that folks who have the Tamashii figure will either be satisfied with it next to R2, or pick up the (likely) SS release as well. That's because Tamashii 3PO owners tend to bestow upon that figure a degree of reverence that will not be shadowed by an alternative version.

:goodpost: Sums it up for me.

I paid closer to $400 via SSC but I got a figure that I feel is worth it.

I try hard not to sound like a ******, but clearly I'm struggling with that :dance

That's a good question. It would depend on how much over retail I could get for him.

I wish I had a Deluxe Vayda :monkey2

Aw, he's a keeper :(

...but primed for a re-release. Dragon seem to bring one out every few years, and a new one is about due. Does it have to be Armstrong? This one is on ebay New Zealand, 1 bid of $100 and a day to go. It's a 'some guy' sculpt, but comes with a moon base-dio and flag. I was thinking about bidding on it, but the bills in my peripheral vision are holding me back.

Alriiiiight, 10K :woo

:fest :fest :fest

Yeah, it has to be Neil. It was worth a shot, but I agree that you'd have to be crazy to let him go.

I'll never forgive the man for dying before I had a chance to pick it up. :lol

I'm out of the loop with SSC figs - is it best to pre-order far in advance or can I wait till release photos and still be able to get it for retail? Damn I hope they do R5-D4... the galaxy shoulda been his

With R2 and most other non-editioned figures from Sideshow, you can not only wait until in-hand images are available, but likely many months afterward.

One thing though: you may miss out on the exclusive. Most of the time there are still exclusives available when the figure is released, but occasionally the Ex sells out before, like was the case with the Deluxe Vader.

Didn't Deluxe Vader Ex only sell out after release? The Ex version did ship first, but was still available for purchase after people started posting pictures as far as I recall.
