100% sideshow.
it would say otherwise.

Yeah. Looking at the video several times, it definitely looks quite different from the Tamashii proto. Yet, i can't help but Wonder how Sideshow would have come with a viable alternate option so soon after Tamashii's project got scrapped. I don't know. This incarnation could still use parts of the Tamashii project.

I really don't think they have anything to do with one another. That would be a good thing, anyway, since Tamashii's scale was off. I just don't see any reason for Sideshow not to have kept this totally in-house so they maximize their profit. This is going to be a huge seller for them.

:lol Damn!! I just focused on the fact that they had it resting on the little table from Ben's house in EP IV. :lol I have failed!

glad to see this finally revealed... I knew it was coming...been wanting to talk about it. ;) I was told by a friend who works at SS that the R&D put into the PF droids wasnt just for the PFs, he stopped short of saying when it would come out just "soon". Its gonna be an awesome figure.

So, uh, was that droids, plural? :naughty

After all the flak medicom have copped over their 1:7 scale R2s there is no way Sideshow will stuff up the scale... is there?

Looks so awesome! I have the medi R2 and besides the scale issue it just doesn't have any cool features except for lights, the black series 6 inch blew it away. But now it looks like we are getting a definitive version to go with the tama 3PO. So glad didn't have to wait till Sunday, except for seeing how long we're going to have to wait until it ships. April next year?

You think plastic. I can't tell. It looks like the lightsaber has some kind of magnet thing going on to help open those compartments and that would mean metal. I tried catching the opening sequences but it's done so fast I really cannot tell how the saber is actually used to open thing. Magnetic, a push and open option, I small wedge or hook thing going on??????? I know it would mean more money but I'm hoping diecast or some kind of hot toys type 40% diecast hybrid. He's a droid dang it, droids should be metal.......

Diecast is generaly Non-ferris, so if it's magnetic, then it's NOT diecast.
Grevious uses magnets, so does cobra commander.
No diecast in those.

He's gonna be plastic.

Exactly.... don't really care if it's metal or not, just need R2 to accompany tamashii 3PO.....

now the question is, will the scale fit with Tamashii C-3PO?

why not just get the inevitable, properly weathered Sideshow 3P0 to go with him?
They're doing R2, they've done battle droids. They WILL do threepio.
