I'm letting the pre-order run for now. My motivation for ordering from Sideshow and paying the extra cost to ship to the UK was in the hope of getting him before xmas. Now that he has been delayed till Jan I might just wait for a local supplier. I'm not really fussed by the exclusive and the extra wait will allow Hot Toys to potentially show what they might come up with. Having said that though, I do like the SS light effects and the price is good. I think I'll just sleep on it until after xmas.

I need the drink tray so I can display him with Jabba so I am keeping Sideshows.. I doubt HT will include all that Sideshow is.

I'm definitely keeping my pre order. I think the droid looks great and the price is a steal. I have no complaints based on the photos so far. I don't mind the seam on the dome.

Keeping mine as well. The price can't be beat, especially for all the little extras. This isn't a "Need it now" figure for me. I just want to have him--so I can wait til next month. I'm more concerned with getting all the PFs that are due in December before Xmas.

Why Sideshow would allow this adult collectible figure of a beloved droid to have an ugly seam on the dome is beyond me. Pretty sure even the cheap figures don't have that...

All these delays must mean they are doing an overhaul of the upcoming figures to improve them greatly. If it doesn't I can't see this as any other thing than a devastating catastrophe for their 1/6 line.

This is what I'm most curious about as well. Fingers crossed, this is the busiest, most tightly packed release schedule I've ever been interested in.

I actually now have to wonder if all the delays are so Sideshow can try and clear out room in their warehouse! They seem to have a lot of back stock that they have been trying to get rid of in the past couple of events (Spooktacular and Black Friday).

It's one thing to delay Han and Luke because they are hopefully trying to get the production right. But we've gotten so many assurances that R2 was on track for December. Alex came in and said so just a week or two ago, the behind the scenes shot we saw of R2 looked like it was in the "real" plastic trays that it would come packaged in, and HT is displaying it and the box at their store.

Ever think the delays are more due to getting these on a boat to the US. Remember bigger companies need lots of stock of things coming from China in order to keep their customers shelves full of product for people to buy for the holidays.

It seems to me that things get delayed around this time of year every year.
