Canon for some means it was shown/discussed in the movie, for others it may include comics.
People that jump up and down about canon usually have small manly hydraulics, and have to make noise to make up for it.

No, they die, or are ejected after the process because they have served their purpose. The "King Alien" is being "escorted" out of the hive by the drone and/or guard Aliens. That's my story (or, uhm, canon), and I'm sticking to it.

That Sideshow backstory is pretty lame. So he's hiding, comes out to "help the queen ," runs off to grab a quick bite to eat, and then just hides again?

I think they're gonna struggle to get rid of all of these, unless the ES is really low.

Looks big and nicely detailed. Gonna have to pass at that price though, especially for something completely made up. There are 2 Alien movies coming in the near future...I can wait.

I'd like to see the paint application up close but for $1000 I'd prefer if this piece was bigger.

If he goes into hiding after he's mated with her why is he surrounded by grown warriors on the maquette. Oops just saying...

If this was around $700 or less then I would have definitely pre-ordered it, but I'm pretty much on the fence as of now.

It's based on a made up concept, and the overall design of the King somewhat lacks the Giger-esque asthetics as other forum members had already pointed out.

But I do think it would look great if displayed with the SSC Alien Queen diorama which came out in 2009.

As a standalone statue i think it looks great! But no place on my shelves due to the "canon" that was pulled out of thin air and of course the price. Space getting limited these days, have to draw the line somewhere.

But i think the sculpt itself looks pretty damn fierce, why oh why didn't they just go with the queen?

Maybe the Ex will have a queen switchout for the king, id be all over that lol!
