One of my next sculpting project will be the new Asajj head for my premium Format... now that she'll have the same costume as the PF even in the new clone wars episodes I have to make it! I considered it many times and now i think i'll make it soon! hope it turns out good! I just have made one sculpture so far the disney genie and was good enough... still have to finish the base bake all and paint! ^_^

Very impressive re-pain and something to aim for.
Just managed to buy her and will hopefully have in hand in a week max.

Trying my best to find out the cheapest and easiest way to make a mold and fill it. I want to make a cast head or two so I don't have to worry about messing it up.

Can anyone guide me to a good product please ?. I think this will do for the mold but cant find a product that can fill the mold and set hard. I am new to the custom side of 1/6 (feel like every post I do has this in somewhere) and don't want to spend to much getting large quantities in.

If someone could point me to a suitable item to fill a latex mold I would be forever in your debt (has to be in UK).

I recommend smooth-on products. they have a starter kit:

I think it'll be your best bet.
I don't know if they have an outlet over there, or you might see what shipping is to the UK

I may have to do this. this looks so much better than the SSC version

Could someone please tell me when this pf was released and when the count dooku pf was released I missed out on these and I really like them Isee sideshow has waitlist on them both but I doubt they will convert if I choose to go that route.

Thanks. That does seem what I need but they don't seem to ship to UK, or they would atleast be very expensive.
Its a hard hobby to get into. I have asked on a lot of forums (sorry everyone) and as most people are professional or experts they only know about the higher priced, higher quality and quantity of materials. As are most guides.

As I am new I see the materials needed as a possible waste of money for me as I have no experience, thus I don't put a value of the items I may make.
I was considering buying a small amount of liquid latex with thickener to make a cast then fill with plaster of Paris . Not sure if product names are the same for USA which is another problem when asking for help.

I just want a "taste" of making a copy. As I have little belief in my skills I will not customizing an original product. A "cheap" copy made by myself and when I need posses a lot less worry.
Once again I have made a little essay about little (BIG) old me.

Back on the topic in question...
Hope to have my Asajj soon. I plan to make a copy head somehow and get it painted like the newer series and try to make a new outfit. Will not look near the on screen quality but more "in the style". I like the wrist straps, may try simple medical tape stripped and lightly painted.

I wish I could tell... Unfortunatly this is not the PF but the 1:6 version :wink1:

Nice repaint. I always liked the look of Asajj i don't know why they felt the need to feminise her though. I always thought that the original look was quite chilling. (There was something serpentine about the original.)

Same here. I thought the original CW version was very cold and hard to get a read on emotionally.

I am hoping that I can figure out how to make a copy head cheaply so I can get both original Asajj and my version of the new CW Asajj.

I am really tempted to try casting a copy head or getting my hands on one to try my hand at repainting one.

I have been thinking of trying to ask an Asajj owner to make a copy for me. Still to daunting for me to understand the whole moulding and casting side of things. :slap

I do want a few items cast (predator skull, predator masks and Asajj's head) so I don't have to worry about ruining the original. Every time I feel I'm starting to get a grasp on the information my brain farts and just :dunno .

Got my Asajj yesterday. :) looks so good in hand, I cant believe I finally got her. As soon as I saw her in the original CW cartoons she became a favourite on mine instantly. Just a great character in looks, actions and sound. Glad to see her get a good dose of EU to make her more of a rounded character and not a gap filler.

I was all set looking around to make a few alterations to make her a little mix of old and new CW looks but
then she goes and changes again. Not that I that unhappy, I was glad to see the original outfit have its moment before the new sleek look.
I was looking on how to make a nice little tabard, some bandage gauntlets etc ... Ah well. She still looks great as she is by default.

I'm just asking now on another thread on how to make a cast so I can attempt to make a copy head to paint without the worry. The pictures about are my inspiration. I just wish I could do such detail, those eyes WOW. If needs be I will pay for a pro to paint her for me.

Wow!! I love this re paint, MUCH better imo.

It does look good. Just light enough not to make it in your face. Eyes are great, perfect version of the newer CW.

I hope once I get this casting malarkey sorted I will be searching for someone to do my copy similar.
I think the only difference for mine would be - slightly darker markings, lighter lips and no pink bottom eye lid. As she is looking at the ground for me, I don't want the eyelid to be seen.
I was tempted to get all sith eyes but the blue is so much better.

Love the repaint. There was always something lacking in the original, this adds so much to the look and feel.
