I'm not gonna pose them with the table either but the table itself is cool. It's something different that hasn't been done and if done right could be a neat little item to have. As I think this looks in the pics we've seen of it. It has a prop replica type feel to it or what I would expect it to have in a collection despite it won't be the most massive piece ever.

Sorry if this sounds brash, but it would be sheer idiocy and lack of vision if Sideshow does not announce/preorder something PRIMARY in 1/6 or 1/4 on the date of the 30th anniversary 5-25-07. I, for one, am hoping for a 1/6 Vader ANH or Stormtrooper, but an ANH Han or Luke Farmboy in 1/6 would be great too, to go with Leia.

Well call it what you'd like but I don't think they are going to pre-order something for this Friday that no one knows about. Now on Friday we may get a big reveal of something but I think it would be sheer idiocy and lack of vision if SS just said Thrusday night, " hey guys tomorrow we are gonna have a preorder " The usual format is a one week preview of the figure then a pre order.

Yeah, more than likely. They could but I don't think they did that with any of the SW stuff at SDCC but I don't recall 110% since I ordered my stuff at the show.

Its possible although unlikely to get something PreOrderable for Friday especially cause they'd just take live orders like they did for Jabba...

I don't agree. He may have less screen time than lets say Chewie, but he sure adds more to the story. Calling him "ancillary" is off. I wouldn't be surprized if SSC shocks us with a 12" Lando. And just to piss me off, they make a 'General Lando', to join the three Endor stooges in the 'Militaries of Star Wars' line...

A General Lando would be choice #3 for Landos.
Bespin/Cloud City is a must have (who cares if it was already done by Hasblo) with a Skiff Guard Lando a close second (ditto for my earlier Hasblo comment)--- a General lando from ROTJ is in third place---- fallen down at the fourth steeplechase... dying the muck.

Even with the primary items i I think the chess set was a dumb idea (purely my opinion folks ). When I get Cheiw and the droids I want to post them in something "iconic" (ie the classic 3PO with his hand on R2's dome or Chewie and his bowcaster) not playing a game of chess.

I agree that the chess table was a dumb idea (*sigh*), but if we'd get a farm boy Luke, you could pose him together with his sister Leia, siting at the chess table, with her comforting Luke, who's grieving Ben's death. Boring? Yeah, I agree. Man, what to do with that damned chess table...

The way I see it:

N° 1: Bespin Lando
N° 2: General Lando
N° 3: Skiff Guard Lando - I just don't care enough about the Jabba Palace set up. We have enough Jabba Palace items now anyway. Besides that, I really don't like Lando's outfit in that scene.

They may do a Pre-Order on Friday but it will be an inclusive not an exclusive.

Frankly (I know alot of Jabba lovers are going to toss cheese at me) the annoucement of any one of either: 1:6 Old Ben, Sidious in any incarnation, Chewbacca, or the droids will greatly over shadow Jabba for me.

Bottom line for me: if Sideshow does not start doing main characters, interest in this line will die down to the point this will be a niche line at best.

Chess tables and the odd Jabba creatures set here and there will cause geekgasms among fans' here, but that enthusiasm will not translate into huge sales since the "hardcore" fan is a very smally minority. Most people want their ANH Han, Luke, Vader, Chewie, etc.

I'm expecting Sideshow to announce more Episode IV figures in this 30th anniversary year. But I'm not so sure we'll see anything new at CIV.
