After all the stupid sh__ Dave has seen throughout this forum over the past ten years, I doubt Yoda's chin is what's gonna send him over the edge. :lol

Thats no joke. :lol Dave started the forum just a bit before I came around. Those of us who have been here since the start have seen a few things. :lol

My God, Josh! I came on the scene just a month after you, but look at the discrepancy in our post count!! :thud:

Guess I have some catching up to do.

Well, thats actually the date this part of the forum started we where on Ezboard for two years before we moved over. So all those posts are over what the 7-8 years the board has been around.

Big chin or not, I feel the likeness of Yoda's head sculpt isn't quite there yet...

The chin, eyes, ears, everything. Yoda was supposed to be the figure I couldn't do without. After seeing those pics and seeing it in person at Comic-Con, it was the easiest PASS I ever done.

If they fix it and it's sold out, I'd be happy to pay scalper prices to get it somehow. But until then, I'm happy with my fat wallet.

Aliens should be the easiest for them to sculpt. Especially one that's a real puppet.

Well if the OP or a Mod can fix the typo in the thread title, this petition may receive more credence. :rolleyes2

Personally I always hoped Sideshow would go all out and make Yoda a 'deluxe' figure for such an iconic SW character. This was a figure I really did want Sideshow to 'spare no expense' on. When Sideshow announced that Yoda was in the works, I envisioned a figure in the $200 range with maybe four headsculpts (with hair), showing the broad range of emotions Yoda conveyed through his facial expressions by the masterful puppetry of Frank Oz. After Hot Toys showed off the PERS system, it brought to mind even more what could be possible in 1/6 scale.

Sadly, none of that is happening for this release. But ideally, Sideshow will strongly consider releasing a head expansion pack in the future that could feature these elements. I would much rather pay for more headsculpts than an expensive polystone display piece that most of us do not have room for.

Good post, Justinluck. Yoda is such an incredible character that I really needed this one spot-on. Not "almost", not "it'll do", but SPOT-ON.

Hasbro's Yoda did okay for the last decade and that only cost me $15. For the price we're paying, for the amount they're paying the sculptors, Yoda needed to be at 95%. He deserves 100% but I'd settle for 95%. Right now, it's closer to 75%.

Since we're discussing the work that went into this release, we might mention the brand new body. That's gotta hold some weight with people.

Another thing I like a lot about the figure is the material of his robe. If that makes it through production I'll be 50% satisfied from the start. The rest of his accessories look good from what I can tell, so that would be another 10%. If the body works well, we're up to 70%. The final thirty is all in how the head turns out.

The thing about this sculpt is that from the sides, the likeness is completely there. Where it loses the connection is from the front. I am not one to obsess over likeness, but the more they can tweak this sculpt towards perfection, the more I'll take. Greedily.
