Mikey is right. That leg belongs to Hal Jordan and Hal is not a muscular guy in the comics.

You say Hal is not a muscular guy? :cuckoo: Course he is, but not Superman muscular. :p

Term muscular usually implies the build of a bodybuilder, while the term "toned" usually is what is used for someone with let's say a swimmer's physique. Hal is absolutely the latter, he has never been shown to be overly muscular but simply fit and trim.

I want it to be Hal, but that boot looks more like a woman's

When I saw the video, I assumed Hal's picture was a bust, not a statue.

I'm hoping I'm wrong because Green Lantern (Hal) is easily one of my favorite heroes in the DC Universe...and I prefer statues over busts.

you know what I mean, BA. Hal is human-size muscular but oversize muscular like the Hulk or Bane:clap

Yeah, I know what you meant. :hi5:

Unfortunately, it is Hal's boot. As @Mike stated it was unpainted. So hopefully the full reveal will take away my concern of the small ankle.
:p

Hal was BOTH

They showed his solid comiquette that according to people who spoke to reps at SDCC will light up and his 1:1 Bust conceptual.

The "problem" in comic art is that a lot of artists draw all characters with the same overly developed musculature. Better artists draw the characters with differing physiques. One of the best examples of this was Alan Davis' art in "The Nail" where Aquaman had a swimmer's build and the Flash had a runners build. It would be nice if there was more of that art.

With respect to Hal Jordan, he should be fit, but shorter than the average superhero. Test pilots are, on average, of average to below average height because, among other things, they fit better in the cockpit. For example, the maximum height of the Mercury astronauts (the paradigm of test pilots with the right stuff) was 5' 11":

  • Alan Sheppard: 5' 11"
  • Gus Grissom: 5' 5"
  • John Glenn: 5' 10½"
  • Scott Carpenter: 5' 10"
  • Wally Schirra: 5' 10"
  • Gordon Cooper: 5' 8"
  • Deke Slayton: 5' 11"

for an average height of about 5' 9".

Hal Jordon, listed at being between 6' and 6' 2" would have been too tall and failed to make the cut for the Mercury program. Sure astronauts are taller now (the tallest to fly on the space shuttle was 6' 4"), but in general test pilots are still of average to below average height, with average height for a male in the US being 5' 9" to 5' 10".

Well I guess that would depend on the origin story that you go with. In the Silver Age and Modern Age Hal was a test pilot specifically for Ferris Aircrafts, where he might have had issue going through whatever formal training he had but with regards to Ferris since he was their best pilot, you could in theory argue that they tailored at least their test subjects to his specifications or at least large enough for him to fit within them.

In the Bronze Age, he was an Air Force pilot for a time, some of this bled into the Modern depending on writer and it was like Ferris was a second job for him.

Is there a picture of the Batman PF? This will be a must have(as long as I love the way it looks) Sorry if this has been answered before.

Think a Metallo statue is in the works?

Probably not in the first wave but I have a feeling he is being thought of. I hope it's the Corben with half his flesh ripped off, etc, rally let SSC go wild with it.

There is a whole thread for it in this forum somewhere.

Imagine a light up Kryptonite heart :drool

______

Do they also have movie rights? i'd like a Green Lantern film PF and a Man of Steel one too

I would imagine that you won't get anything from Reynolds GL from SSC. Despite the designs being awesome I don't think they'll dip into that well.

Other than the main members of the Justice League (and I mean the real Justice League, not one that includes teen Cyborg) I kinda doubt Sideshow will do many, if any, of my other favorite DC characters. They're all on the fringe: Dr. Fate, Deadman, The Spectre, Dr. Mid-Nite, Mr. Miracle, The Question, etc. Really, what are the chances we'll see any of these guys? Probably stuck with DCD and Mattel for those. :(

A PF of The Question would've awesome! He's one of my favorite DC characters and I don't think I could resist a PF but I'd pass on a 1/6
