the easy solution is to simplygive him a grey long sleeved shirt under his armor.
you want no joints exposed, or the devils due version, Leave the shirt on ( as that's the only real difference, he wore a shirt. Yes i know there are fiddly little details, but it would be close enough) You want the original version, take the shirt off.
And guys, get used to the idea of exposed joints. I really do not see sideshow making hot toys esque muscle bodies.

I'm fine with no colour-change feature (make a blue SDCC exclusive if you must). I'd like to see the bearded guy mask, original pistol, bow and arrows w/quiver, and maybe some kind of SMG for accessories.

Gotta be based on the 1984 version, but I wouldn't mind a trench coat or something like that... Probably look pretty cool, and you could always take it off if you want him to look old school.
