There's no doubt in my mind it's a Sideshow Collectibles business tactic.
Just like what they're doing with the P2 Maquette cancellation.

Honestly, if I didn't want this as badly as I do, I would wait to see reviews. Anything less than blowing me away, though, and it'll be a return for sure.

On the topic of QC/expectations/successes, I watched a review last night of a Hulk statue. It looked jaw-droppingly good in the video. I watched it in full HD on my TV. The paint, detail, size, all looked very impressive. I hope Godzilla has a similar outcome.

Sadly that is not true for Batgirl.
I am still on the WL since Nov 29.

I know it will most likely get converted, but this has taken a while now.

Just wait patiently... My poison ivy converted so long after I WL, that I even forgot I had her on WL :lol

To be fair, sometimes they do hit one out of the park. I wish they did with all their pieces. I'm still looking forward to this Godzilla maquette too.

Godzilla is so basic, I feel like you'd almost have to try to really ruin this piece in production, he's pretty much one tone except his eyes and mouth, maybe these areas could turn out bad. I've yet to see any collectible really capture the emotion in the eyes of this Godzilla, he almost looks crazy in a number of shots, it's awesome, despite their relative size to his head, the eyes on the 2014 Godzilla are the best, lots of expression from them, really added to the fights when they'd cut to close ups, you could easily read what's going on with him. It's one reason why I like the '84 Godzilla, I know at times he just looked half asleep depending on angle but at the right angles he looked utterly pissed off and that was with unmoving or changing eyes on a suit. CGI really helped with 2014 and as much as I like the detail on Zilla's eyes that CGI and enhanced puppetry allowed, there was no emotion to them.

I feel like QC issues with his spines snapping off in shipping is more likely than the quality of how it looks coming out bad.

Well, here's a little interview from Last Year's SDCC talking to Sideshow about The big G

To all those firmly planning on getting this, how do you plan to store/display yours? I'm thinking of hopping onto the Besta bandwagon, but this fella seems too deep for one. He's about 19" deep. What do you guys think of the Stuva frames? This one is 19 5/8" deep. Just not sure how well the material/backboard would take to being painted black.

This is due out in July but I have a slight issue because I will be overseas for a month. Can I tell SS to hold off shipping? If not what should I do?

This is a great question which I would like to know as well.

INB4 the delay. You'll be ok, I doubt he'll be ready for July.

Secretly hoping for this; though, not by a lot. July is the one month of the year I'm rarely home. I can imagine it now: a handful of FedEx notes on my door telling me to come get it myself.

As for storage vs open display, I originally wanted to just put it in my office. I'd love to be able to pause and look at him whenever working gets to me. But he may be the one thing I want to protect most. I'm thinking of a plexi-glass box with a wood top and thin wood frame. I'm just worried that'll look too much like a popcorn machine.
