I have no idea who Gemma is but you must be blind if you can't see the resemblance. It even looks like that very insert was the source material he based his drawing on.

Thats what I'm saying, I would bet money that he used that exact picture as his referance.

Look at the shape of her face, the little nose, the eyes and where they are looking, the lips and the expression on the mouth, look at the bottoms of her ears and how they dissapear in the same place. Mike you have great taste in women, but I think they may all be blurring togeather for you. :lol

btw Gemma was in Quantum of Solace, Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans. She plays a red head in most movies, the black hair was for PoP.

Adam Hughes rendition of anything automatically makes her too hot to be believably attached to Mark Hamill.

Still don't see it. I should lay off though because apparently I'm blind.

Realistically almost all the artists whom have posted especially with the Marvel stuff have said that they base their art on real people, Tim Miller has said it a few times. There is a good chance that Adam did as well and a few members on these boards are in contact with him quite a bit, it's not a mystery that couldn't be solved...

Technically, we can't say who was or wasn't used as reference for any given piece due to licensing and legal issues. I can say that none of the aforementioned personalities were used as reference (if I happen to be sculpting a Mara Jade figure at all) :monkey3 though I think Gemma is a delightfully lovely actress, and I might have to add her to my retinue of potential faces for future projects.

I may as well address this here, since it's often a sore spot for some collectors. Often times, the artistic direction might take the piece in another direction from the initial concept sketch, usually facially. Changes may come from Sideshow or even Adam to make the figure more closely resemble a particular model or actress rather than a sketch, though we can't ever make it look just like someone, again for legal reasons, unless it's a person we actually have the license to sculpt. I hope this clears up the face not matching issue.

And with that, I'm heading back downstairs to continue sculpting big hair.

That makes sense especially since let's say Gemma found out about her likeness being unofficially used could sue or at minimum want to be paid or the license holder could get pissed...

Fingers crossed for Danica Thrall :lol

I may be reading into this more than intended by this makes me thins that LFL even though Adam is sketching her and "someone" is sculpting her might force a Shannon likeness since that is who they officially classify the character to look like....or that if she looks too much like an inspiration that tweaks will wipe that by order of Sideshow. Then again the paintjobs on the production would do that just as well but that's what I'm reading...

Yeah, you're reading into it WAY too much. Trust me, if I were to be sculpting Mara Jade, the person I would hypothetically be using as reference would probably be the last person you'd think of, if she weren't so obscure.

I saw your tweet about doing a cape that covered the hiney. I assumed it was this statue until I saw this pic. :rotfl

Got to say I like both the proposed idea and Kathy Griffin`s.
I do wish EU characters got more love, yea not screen accurate but some very favourable ones in the EU.

I hope it gets made, I just hope... they are able to translate it well to the PF format. I don't want to see another Emma Frost "PF" coming out anytime soon.
