Yeah... those boots just kill me. And EVERY Sideshow Hellboy sports them.

Nice body swap MiskatonicNick, really makes the name "Big Red" applicable. Definitely a custom I need to do.

The body swap really adds a lot to the figure!!! Looks factory made as far as I can see. The SSC headsculpt is really one of my favorites, but the body is just all wrong!

Thats why it might be nice if they revisit Big Red... if done right I'd buy an updated version

Odd thing is pop the head off and it's actually a ball joint on the neck but Sideshow's engineering somehow managed to blow 80% of its poseability (see also SSC's various femmes)

Rounded myself up a spare SDCC exclusive Hellboy and carried out a little body swapping experiment with a 13" DCD body...

Not perfect, but he looks suitably more powerful than the SSC original (and yes, I know the joint around the fist of Doom & his arm is a bit messy - it will be cleaned up; this was the 2nd attempt; first time around I'd left the DCD forearm too long and he had a bit of a monkey arm).

Great job, this is what I was expecting when the figure first came out. Hopefully the Hellboy 2 figure will be similar. The DC Direct body really flatters the head sculpt and makes the hand of doom even more menacing. Now you make me want to buy another one just to try to make this custom.
