Youre killing me.......not even a LOTR Teaser or SDCCexclusive.
Why have you abandoned us to such torment and death?
lol.........I know you guys are doing an amazing job and all, but 2 lines not one preview? Well i suppose all we can do is wait and hope for the next Thursday Newsletter
:(

Well, I know the LOTR stuff is harder to make from what has been said but not even an announcement is just sad for me as a LOTR fan really.

Personally, I'm really surprised there was no LOTR announcement this week.
I'm not. No brand new first announcement products for any SS lines were announced. This isuue was just for SDCC. :(

I meant I was surprised there was no LotR at SDCC. Specifically a 12" figure.

Oh. Duh. :D
I've just been thinking too much about the regular figs. Yeah I was expecting a SDCC fig too.

I thought the Press Release for the 1/4 scale LOTR figures said they were only going to make 2 a year. Not sure about the 12 inch, but I thought both lines were going to be small runs, not like the star wars line.

Has anyone actually confirmed that they intend to continue the 12" line?

I was kind of sadened by the lack of LOtR love....why the hell have we not gotten even a teaser or something..throw me a freakin bone here man....I guess I will have to drown my sorrows in the new Freddy frigure:monkey2

I hope the last line is LOTR

The last line isn't LotR.

They said that we'd only see 2-3 LotR PF in 2006, so far we've seen 2 and I'd imagine they might debut the 3rd at SDCC. As for 12", just like the PFs these are probably the most difficult figures they've ever done - sourcing the materials needed to produce a full run of figures can't be easy and they don't want to show us prototypes with materials that aren't just right. So I guess we must be patient...

I don't recall them saying only 2-3 but I'll take your word for it Dave. If they announce the last one at SDCC then it won't be till the end of the year till Lurtz ships. That's a long wait between last announcement and first figure. The 12" stuff is kind of the same for me. I understand that these costumes take a long time to make and are more difficult than the SW figures, but I hate waiting especially when it comes to LOTR. It doesn't help knowing how good SS stuff is either.

Dont be a bunch of sad sacks people. These are only the Con exclusive announcements. Wait till we see what they display at the Con. Don't despair just yet. The past tells me Sideshow folk revel in surprises they have in store, while they giggle at the dark we paint before the storm.

I expect an annoucement or two of each at SDCC. Its just a bummer that this line is getting off to such a slow start compared to how the SW lines are going.

It's all good Josh. I remember being a wholey soley 1/6th freak and seeing all the attention on LotR. The product, the posts. Now the circle has turned. At least there was always something for everyone. Now there is even more.

Hopefully a new 12" anouncement will be this Thursday (April 13th)...SS is churning out the Star Wars 12" (which is GREAT cuz I collect those too!) but not so much on the LOTR 12" figures. Maybe it has something to do with LOTR not being as hot now that the films are done...Just check out the edition sizes...4,000 for Aragorn...Half of what the SW ones are reaching these days. Perhaps LOTR doesn't have as much staying power as SW. At any rate, I'd be happy with 4 - 6 LOTR 12" figures a year compared to the 10 - 12 for Star Wars. I'm sure there's more LOTR to come, Look at other licenses like The X-Files and Terminator, They take a while to sell through too and have WAY smaller edition sizes than LOTR and they're still releasing figures for those lines, so surely another LOTR 12" or two will be announced soon...and on display at SDCC!

For the longest time I've been hoping for a Gandalf The Grey...but now I'm more eager to have a Gandalf The White and a Saruman! They'd look GREAT posed together in their white robes...perhaps battling even!

Just think, their Christopher Lee sculpt for the Star Wars Count Dooku 12" figure is half-way to having a Saruman sculpt too! They could very well do them at the same time!!!

:D

LOTR has the staying power but the stuff has to come a tad quicker than it has been.
