I'd really love Sideshow to produce some 1:6 Marvel figures...do you think they will ever get the license? They've obviously already got a relationship with Marvel so can 1:6 figures be that far away?

They would need a lot more body type that they have now for that licence.

I'd love to see it happen but I'd want them to develop that new body type first and have that go with any possible new 1/6 Marvel figures.

At the top of my own list I'd love to see Captain America, The Punisher, Thor, and eventually their own Spider-Man.

I think it'd be great if they did some female Marvel Characters too!Black Cat and Phoenix would be awesome.

I doubt it.

Their main selling point is the Gore Group and Pablo so sculpts is where is at. I don't think original SS figures are in the picture since they are importing RAH figures like they are going out of style.

Exactly, the RAH Medicom 1:6 Marvel figs is SideShow's lineup. What you see is what you get.

As a PF and Comiquette collector i hope not as we have seen how a similar line with the LoTR has slowed that line down to 1 a year.

I think if Sideshow were to develop a Marvel 1:6 line to the same quality as their PF and Comicquette lines it would kick ass.

I agree with what others have said though, they'd need to adjust their body types for this kind of thing.

In the meantime, I'm happy with the RAH figures that are coming out but I want a comic line as well as a movie line.

I blame SW 12" for that. It's easily where they spend most of their developing time since it's the most popular license and line.

I say when it comes to Marvel and Sideshow, the way things are right now works fine and as a Marvel fan I can't complain much. Marvel and SW are their premiere lines with everything else taking a huge third place. Hopefully TF will throw us a bone this Sunday on a Vs diorama, PF or comiquette.

If Hasbro's Marvel Icons line does poorly, I could see them leasing the licsence out to Sideshow just like they are doing with Star Wars. So I'd say there is a chance, slim, but still there.

It would be cool if they got a lisence for 1/6 Marvel figures, but my guess is that probably won't happen. And if it does (like others) I'd hope they get an improved base-body.

But for now I'm really happy with the 1/6 Comic style Medicom figures and I hope they release some more characters. Spidey needs a kickass Green Goblin!!!

I doubt it will happen. As already said, SS imports the Medicom figures like they're going out of style. If you want a 12" Marvel figure, you gotta get a Medicom fig.

SS does import RAH figures but they also import RAH figures of Star Wars don't they? I could really see them subleasing the license from Hasbro in the near future but as many have said there are large obstacles in their way. Their body type for one, many collectors would want to pose them in dynamic ways to which the Art S Buck doesn't allow for. We know they are working on new body types for shorter characters as well as for characters with exposed joints for the Star Wars line and LOTR line so it is in the realm of possibilities that an entirely new body styling is in the works overall and they are waiting for that to reach completion. Another roadblock is the unique characters like the Hulk, it'd be pretty difficult to Art S Buck a Hulk and make it in scale, even a "Big Boy" body wouldn't be enough to accurately pull off a Hulk. I think if they did it they'd kill with the line almost as popular as Star Wars but I think if it were to be on the "things to do" list its still pretty far off...

This would be an announcement that I would dread...I just wouldn't be able to afford it. I can easily talk myself out of the Medicom stuff, and just say that they are too expensive for me (even if they aren't too expensive for everybody, I gotta draw a line somewhere). With the LOTR and SW lines needing new body types for several characters, perhaps that R&D could be put to good use for Marvel as well. Hobbit bodies could be used for ewoks, jawas, ugnaughts in SW, and Puck and the X-babies in Marvel. Okay, so it's a stretch:lol

Come to think of it, I'm afraid that if Sideshow got the Marvel license they would hype it up with a few big characters and then start releasing the real minor ones like Doop,Leech and don't forget the random HYDRA soldiers 3-pack.

I'd dig the Hydra pack. :monkey3

I'm sure if SSC got the license we'd get Spidey first, he seems to be the launcher followed probably by Wolverine or Captain America. Despite the issues with the body if SSC made these in similar fashion and look to their PFs, I think that they'd easily be the best Marvel figures around, MediCom included. I like MediCom but I will be the first to say that they are severely overpriced. If SSC got a Marvel License I'd definitely be a completist even down to the Howard the Duck SDCC Exclusive...:lol
