Just remember Josh, they were your famous last words.
Yeah, don't remind me. I'm gonna end up having to shoot myself over this.

No. They were no-shows. And thusly, they missed out on seeing the many lovely Sideshow beauties wearing outfits that would turn gay men straight.hey Dave, did you attend the freak party with you good friend the Darklord ???

I dont know, maybe its me, but I thought SS did have a lot of amazing product to offer.
I think some people dont believe SS had much mainly cause they didnt have products in their specific line they were looking for. That doesnt mean they had a subpar year.
Personally I dont collect SW, and last year's Jabba announcement excited me for all of 0secs. Im only now realizing Jabba was even a big deal.
Sometimes you get products you want, sometimes you dont.... its really no big deal...
Agree with all of what you've said. I don't collect the majority of SS lines, yet I'm not unappreciative of them. For whatever my take on the Con is worth, the buzz around the Sideshow booth was electric (as it is at every Con). There were people who seemed to be stunned by all the products on display. Regardless of what your interest is, it cannot be denied that Sideshow's products were heads above most of the others. IMO, only Gentle Giant could come close in quality and diversity. And even there (and at other mid-to-high-end booths), I kept hearing "Sideshow" a lot. Folks were comparing and Sideshow was winning it seemed.
As for the display scheme not being different. True, there wasn't much change from last years'. But, it was the most organized and most accessible display on the exhibit floor. There was no bottleneck between lookers and buyers and overflow gridlock and subsequent air of frustration and unhappiness that plagued the other booths. Much calmer place IMO and contributed to the ambience that Sideshow is not your normal collectibles manufacturer/distributor. There was a certain dignified air around the place....and very effective in presenting the entire company. Especially of note is that this display scheme was most effective in allowing free and unfettered interaction between the collectors/lookers and the SS staff. Everywhere within the display area, you saw knots of people with at least one of the SS reps talking, joking, and connecting. And there was a "full court press" of the entire staff there on the floor -- totally approachable. I also noticed that more and more exhibitors were adopting some of the SS practices...most needing much more work.

j/k dude, you know I love to bust your balls

Hm, you must not have been around during Sunday's 'Sideshow Dance Party'... watch for video
Seriously though, thanks Rumi, your words mean a lot to us. We spent a TON of work and stress as a group prior to this year's Con, and we think it went really really well from the perspective of fan reactions and interest on the floor. You know what was really really popular AT the con? The World of Warcraft diorama! It got a TON of interest and photos. It's an insane piece of craftmanship! Can't wait to see what else they have planned for that line.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for participating, both online and off. It was a blast. And now I'm gonna sleep for 12 hours
