Hey thanks for posting the link. I hadn't checked Trevor's deviantart for a long time and hadn't seen the EX portrait yet.

To answer your question...why would they hire him to sculpt those amazing portraits and then not use them. It wouldn't make any sense IMO and it would be a HUGE mistake also

I definitely agree with your logic! However, this is Sideshow we're talking about. So many of the things they choose to do defy logic and reasonable sense, so who knows

Don't like the new headsculpt at all, the eccentuated the features to make it too stereotypical which was nothing like Jim Lee's art and after the Rogue fiasco don't expect anything even remotely close to the SDCC paint. The original just needed more detail. ; x

Now all we got to do is hope the factory has improved their painting skills.

In SSC I don't believe!
Since it's a comic style character you can relax and expect another 5 colours paint apps.

Looks like that's going to have to happen if that's the vision you have for your collection. But I can't say that I don't like the new looking portraits for this piece.

Tony Cipriano + Trevor Grove = Pure Eliteness

I found this on Trevor's site - Deviantart. Confirms that Trevor did re-sculpt the faces and Tony did the hair and body. Now all we got to do is hope the factory has improved their painting skills.

Closer look now and I think its too slanted of an eye. Without the paint, its some kind of an alien hybrid. I like the previous better. Why did they have to change in the first place, what a bummer. Why SSC, why? What the heck is wrong with you folks?!!!

This was in the time of Sideshows golden era of statue making. This is one of those statues that I've made the decision. No matter what this piece is going to be with me for a long time. I still enjoy looking at this statue as much as I did when I first bought it 3 yrs. ago.
