Wouldn't you rather have a Spacetrooper? Or a Dark Trooper?

Have BH troopers actually appeared anywhere except that very first comic strip back in '78-'79?

Actually they have made a few appearances. Sometimes call Shadow Stormtroopers. But it is not whether they have been in the story that I care about. I just think that the Stormtrooper design in black is badass.

Edit - Oh, and I do not like the designs of the Spacetroopers nor the Dark Troopers though I would still be stoked to get figures of them.

im sure they might have been in the EU novels in the MAW..from Kevin J Andersons trilogy-but i read that so long ago so dont quote me on it.

So off I went, to George's house, to find out the answers to a few things.

I found him inside, pale and withered, seemed so tired.

I asked him about the trooper variants, why they'd need different outfits.

He leaned forward, took my hand, and whispered one simple word: Toys.

Supposedly (and I do not really care one way or another, again, I just think Stormtroopers look badass in black) in the comic strip, the emperor had an agent whose codename was "Blackhole". The emperor liked him so much that he gave him a legion of his own Stormtroopers. They were regular Stormtroopers that were given Black armor to identify them as Blackhole's. There was supposedly an added benefit that the material used for the black armor also hindered scanners from detecting them. Later, after Blackhole was defeated and the Blackhole Stormtroopers were disbanded...a remnant group went to work for Carnor Jax and they were then referred to as "Shadow Stormtroopers" even though they were they same, regular Stormtroopers in black armor that worked for Blackhole.

I have never really been a big fan of the design of the Royal Guards. So to me, they would look correct, but not cool. The Balckhole Stormtroopers, while not correct, would look much cooler to me.
