Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Hey Richard, sorry you've had bad luck lately. But after years of collecting, the main thing I've learned is that there is NO such thing as a 100% statue.... Every piece will have some TINY imperfection. But realistically, you wouldn't even notice most times unless you stood within INCHES of it.... That's the nature of the game. Unless you have an arm broken off, or a huge paint defect just enjoy the statue and let it's presence fill your room with nostalgia :)
:exactly:

In reference to my previous post, i managed to get him in by doing both at the same time and applying a fair bit of pressure.

I agree with ChrisCJ99, mine isnt perfect after all it has a few smudges and mainly has issues with the black lines being overun or a tad too thick in areas, but i dont want to destroy him and risk geting one that is worse off, i can live with them bearing in mind that this statue of Spidey KICKS MAJOR F¥$€ing ASS!!!! :yess: :yess: :yess:

So. . . . I got the email Sunday, that my WL would convert Wed the 29th. Was super stoked as I have not been able to find Spidey anywhere. Tues night the 28th, my birthday, my GF gives me a small box and inside . . . . a pic of the Spidey Comiquette. She had it waiting in the other room for me. Totally surprised me.
But. . . . . Spidey has a nice black paint smudge right between his eyes and is going back to SSC for a replacement first week of the new year. I live close to them though so it should be over quickly.

I received mine yesterday and it has some small flaws but all of them together are bothering me. Smudges on his face (some the camera can't pick up) and missing lines, left arm missing line and looks sloppy. You guys think it should be replace or am I being picky?

Awesome gift man, she must REALLY like you. My wife actually got me started on 1/4 scale way back with the Vader PF... now she's sorry she did that :lol

If that's the worst of it, I would keep him. I don't think they are coming in any better than what I see in your pics. Chances are probably good you'll end up with the same or worse.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Spidey will go up in price. The other wont :huh

not as fast as you might think. The ES is pretty high on this. The market is flooded with red/blue Spidey pieces, so i dont see it going up all that much. Will be easily obtainable for a long time imo. The Venom and Carnage comis are by far the best representations of those characters, so i think the prices will go up faster on those than Spidey.

Looks good to me, that's not much to write home about, all these little markups also show up more on pics than in person. I wouldn't be bothered by what was posted up above in the pics.

Rich's case a little more.

Now there's logic, good man AZ.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

English is not my first language( Portuguese is) and i have been living in canada for 5 years only but here is a copy of the e-mail i sent to Sideshow trying to express my feelings:

I received my Order:TXXXXXX- Spider-man Comiquette. The statue has some unacceptable painting probems. I am attaching pictures of the painting problems on its face and the hand attached to the wall.
It looks like an 8 years old painted it. Sideshow has to improve its production line and Quality control as its under the acceptable with the last released pieces. I had problems with all my last 7 orders. A few of them i did not bother complaining as i could live with the problems but when it is on the face of the statue is bad. As an example I ordered 2 Hulk Comiquettes and both of them had painting problems on the base but i did not bother complaining about them as the bas is not so important in my opnion but these expensive pieces should not have this kind of problems. You guys at Sideshow Customer Service are always very good dealing with all of us loyal customers but you HAVE to communicate with the others areas(Production and quality control) and make them improve them as you are getting all the crap from the customers because of the poor job being done by them. A lot of people are dissatisfied with the way Sideshow have been releasing these last products and are loosing the faith on the company. Now when i receive a new Statue instead of the excitement of the situation i am having to worry it i am getting another problematic piece.
It was supposed to be a hobby and its becoming a headache latelly. I am starting to thing about quiting it as a lot of other customers have done or are thinking about doing.
I would like a replacement for this statue.

Thanks in advance

great response man, but sadly i have to agree that i don't think they care. cause it they did, you'd think we'd start seeing better product.:dunno

Douglas did you get the monies, I sent you a cool million yesterday? :lecture

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I bet all those people who got hives seeing the higher-than-usual edition size are regretting not buying this piece while they still had the chance. While a low edition size can certainly raise the cool and/or value factor of a piece, it certainly shouldn't make it nicer looking.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I agree with AZ completely I simply meant the software will not increase but spidey will. :)

That makes reasonable sense. Im not concerned about getting the ex, I'll be happy with a reg version. I have a hard time believing this will be COMPLETELY wiped off the shelves anytime soon, but lots of people are seeming to pick this up :)

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Hopefully you are gonna get a good one and I am the one with a really BAD luck!

Dont worry, your not alone, I have real bad luck too! The majority of my stuff has been arriving damaged lately. Lightsabers dont light, really bad paint apps, broken arms, broken shields.

If I can make the SS panel at SDCC this year I will make it a point to bring this up.

What do you think their answer(s) will be to improve QC (or does it need to be improve to their side since they believe they are doing all the correct procedures in order to slap the sticker on the white styro)?

Really not sure but im curious to know if they have identified this as a problem or if I am an outlier. I want to know if they are putting the qc sticker on in china or if they are inspecting stateside and UPS is damaging the items while shipping.

Furthermore, I would like a option to not have some of the light up features, espcially if they have identified problems prior to distibution. For instance, when my Anakin PF arrived his leg was super wrapped up with sticks and boards and braces. He still didnt light up. They know luke didnt light up but sold him half baked, mine doesnt work. I broke the Yoda Clone PF trying to access the battery dept. I would rather have a non light up feature than deal with frustrations of a semi working collectible. I am deeply concerned about the light up feature on cyclops, SS has yet to establish with me that the techology works right and is reliable for a $300 collectible. Thanos does work well but the light feature is a gamble for me now.

I dont mind occasional damage or flaws but with me I am dealing with consistent issues. I just wanna ask if im the only one or if this is a problem and are they making any business decisions to improve the process. Iv collected a wide variety of things for years and in the last two years SS has been out of control or I just have bad luck.
