Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

Got Spidey today. Amazing piece! But there is SO much slop. Easily the most haphazard paint job I have ever gotten from Sideshow. I have looked over about every picture in this thread and mine seems to be on par with most, but worse them some and better than a few. Which is pretty freaking ridiculous to have that much variation in paint apps on a single piece. I have been really lucky with Sideshow purchases, only had to send my Darkness exclusive back due to chipping paint.

Have to say I am pretty disappointed overall. The piece itself is phenomenal, the paint apps on the other hand are not.

I'm used to it with Sideshows 1/6 stuff, but have never had a larger scale item with so many issues.

Problem is, if I send it back I got a damn good chance of getting one similar or worse. The chances of getting a better one seem to be slim. I'll sleep on it tonight and make my final decision tomorrow.

Carnage on the other hand is flawless.

19 premium format/comiquette purchases and only one (Spiderman) with enough flaws to warrant sending back is not bad but the fact that 90% of the Spideys seem to have the same issues it doesnt leave me with much hope of getting a better one. Crap.

How bad are the paint apps King? Any pics? I was happy with mine. Only thing I noticed were some of the black webbing lines no completely filled in in some spots. I figured that was to be expected since they are hand painted. Guess I lucked out.

Good luck.

Send it back until you get one that you like. That's what I'm going to do.

Re: Spider-Man Comiquette - Waitlist links available in 1st post.

I'm very lucky consider I could be on the 40th-45th piece without any problems, I need to count them one day.

*knock on glass table* it's all I got near..... me OH WAIT!!!! *knocks on some wood*

I sent a request yesterday to return mine, and haven't heard anything yet. For you guys who return stuff a bit, how long does it typically take for them to respond? I went through the convoluted process on their site instead of just sending an e-mail.

Sometimes, I think it's just me getting pickier....then I look at my credit card bill. :lol

I talked with them yesterday for Carnage and they told me to allow about 5 - 7 days for the request to process because they're backed up from the holidays.

Damn, this thread is starting to look as bad as the Iron Man Maquette thread!
Mine is arriving tomorrow & I'm almost certain that it's gonna be either: Sloppy or utterly horrendous, also getting the Jack Sparrow PF & the feedback on that ain't that pretty as well.

I guess SSC might finally decide to "f" me in the "a"...

Thanks for the response. Probably also backed up from the cluster____ of QC problems recently.

Tiny black specks around the center, and some off lines. If you are more than 4 inches away you cant see them,or at least I cant, but still knowing they are there it annoys me. You have to be right up close to see the imperfections.

The pic is obviously several times larger than the actual piece.

And then a handful of other lines here and there that are wacky.

It's gonna happen sometime. :lol

I'd stay positive though. Mine was great, aside from the blob on the eye. I was happy with everything else. As frustrated as I get though, I'm glad Sideshow at least tries to work with me. I'm sure their Customer Service department is working overtime lately.
