Most companies do this so it doesn't bother me at all. For instance, Apple pays the retail stores to keep their Ipods at a certain price so that there isn't the possibility of the price shooting down. But hey, 15% off is better than nothing.

That pisses me off!!! I think there should be a SRP but to say you have to sell it at this price sucks or we wont let you carry our product. Let the product sell itself, if its a good product thats what it will do. Hate no matter were I go I have to pay the same for an Ipod.

There are also folks who have the opinion that the Earth is flat, too. It's not like "anti-trust is unconstitutional" is a particularly mainstream legal opinion, so it's a bit disengenuous to act like it's open-and-shut.

I see the parallel. Mainstream opinion believed it was flat, as mainstream opinion believes it is constitutional.

Anzik is right. There's a perfectly stable and natural mechanism for punishing a business that tries to control a market against the wishes of those who make up the market: people will shop elsewhere. If Sideshow wants their prices honored so that they don't lose their license, they should make damn certain that what they are selling holds its price.

What purpose does introducing legal compulsion serve?
