I definitely agree that Sideshow's unpainted sculpt has a higher degree of resemblance than Gentle Giant's version; however, painted it looks weird; maybe it's the eyes? though this is based on a single snapshot so will have to wait and see

Atleast they are being realistic.
Those guys have a 100 percent chance of getting those statues if they put down the cashola. You have a 0.000000000000001 chance of nailing Emily. Just sayin'.The fact that Gentle Giant digitally sculpt from scans means that the facial features are going to be exact, because they're proportioned mathematically.
The head/jaw in SS's version looks too wide and round to me, so that she looks almost oriental in feature. The eyes & eyebrows also look off. Like I say, more like an anime version from what we've seen so far.
I do think the GG baby doll is more accurate but I think Trevor's sculpt capture likeness while also adding his own style to it. I wouldn't want the faces to be EXACTLY alike on the 2 statues. This way, each has it's own style and has more uniqueness. Unless the full preview is an absolute 180 from the preview, this is an instant order for me!

The GG sculpt has a big nose, no detail in the lips, and the cheekbones are almost non-existent.

The GG nose seems off to me. I prefer the PF. I also see a lot more detail in the face on the SS piece.

Lets see how good the final product is in our hands before we compare the two. As it stands, this has lots of promise, but GG is clearly the better statue simply due to what you see is what you get. Every company Rogues and Kenobi's up pieces... GG and SSC are bad for that, but have also hit home runs. Hopefully Babydoll collectors get homeruns across the board!

That only means GG is lazy and admit they can't sculp a statue by hand. I rather have a self sculpted statue that's not perfect but is made by hand than something that was made in a computer and also isn't perfect.

Actually the nose is bang on & the cheekbones highly defined in GG's sculpt. The physical proportions of the actress's face are pretty much perfect. Any differences are mostly in the makeup/paint app.
There isn't much detailing in the lips however, I'll concede that.
I think both statues look great!
I'm going with the pf as I love mixed media.
I don't know why there is so much "discussion" on what's better especially when the pf hasn't had a full reveal yet.

Actually, I was just being an ass to highlight those who were criticizing Sideshow's sculpt, but if you insist, the nostrils are too large on GG's. They make her nose look bulbous from a straight-on perspective.

Actually, it doesn't mean that at all. All the GG SP girls, aside from the faces, are sculpted in 3D by very talented artists. It would not be much more work for GG to ask those artists to sculpt the faces as well. It was a conscientious decision by GG to use scans as they probably felt it would lead to much more accurate portraits. I think they look great on the GG statues. That being said, the SSC face has Trevor's touch to it which I also can truly appreciate. These will look great together in my collection!
Legs on the GG statue are way too muscular. Don't love the paint on the face either. I'm curious to see how SSC's turns out.
