Looks great to me, was never going to match let alone beat the HT sculpt but then this is a statue

Still a certain purchase for me :)

I like the sculpt, but something is off in the profile shots. It looks too flat. The suit looks incredible though.

Suit = good

Face = bad

Statue = This is what his face would look like in a casket with all that make up caked on

Statue also makes him look older

I do not understand what this means? So are you saying because this is a statue, the head sculpt would never look as good as a toy? :confused:

In case you are right, but most of the time Trevor's head sculpts destroy anything Hot Toys produces, whether they are 1/6th sculpts for figures or 1/4 sculpts for statues.

I'm loving this piece. The suit is fantastic, and the head sculpt is very good in my opinion. Glad I PO'd, and can't wait to get this one in my display.

Yeah I love the suit especially, the dark red colored boots and darker blue outfit. Its seems the outfit is more screen accurate compared to Hot Toys one. :clap

How? Trevor's sculpts do look better before they get mass produced and painted, but what does that matter? People care about how the final product is going to look, and in that scenario HT wins every time. Regardless of Trevor's awesome talent, Sideshows horrible paint apps ruin it.

Precisely. Think about the scale. Defects and imperfections are more noticeable on a statue.

He only mentioned the sculpt, which is why I could not understand just because it is a statue the sculpt would look poorer than a toy. Of course the paint job ruins the look of the sculpt, but that is not the issue here. For instance the Dutch/Arnold sculpt PF destroys any plastic Arnold sculpt that Hot Toys has made.

That might be true but Trevor's sculpts are normally practically flawless and I think the fact that Yulli's one is better than this has nothing to do with what u are saying. The fact is she can just sculpt Cavill better than Trevor. I think even at the same scale and if it was cast in polystone her sculpt would still be superior. Making a statement like the PF sculpt does not as good because it is a statue and not a toy is something I don't get, especially when you compare Trevor's PFs to Hot Toys plastic Toys. Sculpt wise he wipes the floor with Hot Toys. However, because sideshow can't paint, they ruin the look of his sculpts. :thud:

Bottom line is, it is not because it is a statue that the sculpt is not as good as Yullis. It's the fact Yulli sculpted a better sculpt than Trevor by some dam miracle.

too true. That's the main thing that has been putting me off of Sideshow's products. I'm getting really tired of the prices increasing but I still have to repaint their products in order to bring them up to hoe they were intended which is something I'm quite certain I'll have to do here. What's sad with this proto is that the proto paint looks like SS production paint so just imagine how the production will actually come out :monkey2: It's also making me reconsider the Nathan Drake PF b/c I just don't feel like repainting it :gah:

With that said though, it's still an pic piece and one that I will be happy to own. If this was a fully sculpted piece however, it would've been a total but difficult pass

Despite the paint the skin texture is quite noticeable, so I think with a great paint job and can look quite realistic.

I'd be very happy if the factories maintain close to the quality of this proto. But importantly, please don't mess up his eyes & brows SS.

I preordered this because I like the suit! But on a more serious note it's true about the paint applications on the finished product they usually lack a bit,even though the sculpts are fantastic. Question: How do you mass produce these statues and make them look like professional commissions? By the way the Hulk Maquette is one of the good ones!

I'm sticking with the Comic PF, was thinking of getting this. Its just not "Superman" for me. More like some dude at a Halloween party dressed up like superman. My collection is too comic based, this will throw it off.
