Not everyone suckles ate the teet of Reeve and Keaton the way you do m8.

I know I'll get flack for this, but I do not care for the Reeve Superman movies. I won't be buying the Reeve PF. I had this one on PO, but decided to cancel...not because I don't like it, but because I need to prioritize my collection (just don't need two Superman's).

Agreed. Its not Reeves fault but those films are so hard to watch compared with todays special effects. . Keaton as batman is still high on my list though

Ya the special effects are bad. There is an air of cheesyness due to the time it was filmed in, but Reeve's acting was fantastic and that can still be appreciated. You could almost believe Clark Kent and Superman were two different people and that is no easy feat.

I kind of wish they would "Lucas" it to some extent by adding in some CGI flight scenes etc.. to give it some new life. To me it is like Pre-Crisis Superman.

Watching Reeve is the movie. He makes watching worthwhile. If I had unlimited space, multiple rooms do display, and unlimited cash flow I would love to pick up all of the Superman PFs. I can't justify more than one at this point and this will be the comic version.

Reeve had ONE GREAT MOVIE, one GOOD movie, and TWO OF THE WORST SUPERHERO FILMS OF ALL TIME. If they had stopped at Superman II I would gladly say it was the BEST set of superhero films I had ever seen, but they didn't and they went on to make two films that would rival Catwoman in just how HORRIBLE they were. So in the end my opinion of the Reeve films isn't nearly as high as they would have been.

LOL... Bruce drinks the Keaeeve KoolAid... what can I say:wink1:

What sequels? Donner only made one movie.

The Reeve movies were just before my time (I only count the first 2), so I don't have any of that nostalgia feeling because I didn't watch them growing up.

I have watched them with my son (he's two, and he loves them), and I can't help but pick apart the fight scenes and action sequences. I try to watch with the understanding of the technology of the day, but can't seem to do it on these films (I mean, they could have at least tried to make his cape flutter properly).

Now, the Keaton Batman movies are another story...

Yep... and there is the problem right there.

I can't even completely blind myself with the Keaton films. The first is great, and then the second is good, but only good in my oppinion. However, even with the first I find that it isn't nearly as grand as I would like it to be in terms of the sets and staging. The effects just weren't able to overcome the short comings of the clausterphobic sets.
