I wanted to get the Smaug, Deathwing, and the Godzilla but they all put me down due to their awkward pose. :(

I was also waiting for that alien queen diorama which was cancelled.
Okay Zilla is the shiznitt bro. He looks amazing and its not just me saying that but to each his own

I don't know about you guys but the new Stegosaurus and all the repaints look like crap. Fools, they have accented the colors on the re-paints, they don't blend in. The originals are a little bland and somehow one color scheme (some of them) and they look settled and pleasing to the eye, that's what I like, that is more realistic to me due to the fact that we don't know the real colors they had. Anyways the repaint look awful (eye popping and annoying.) I sold all my old statues but I refuse to buy this repaint piece of crap. Sideshow really blew it with the f-n repaints. The collectors who have the originals, don't feel bad due to the new repaint releases because in my opinion they are ten times better then these repaints, (plush toys.)

I personally don't think the repaint is 'crap' enough to be crap...but I can understand what you tried to say...I think most of the original painting are better than its repaint too. For example, the repaint Stegosaurus, it has more color variation, the green, dark orange, horizontal stripes...where the original is almost just brown-like. It's not about the number of color they use, it's about 'use it right'. Like you said, I do think the original Stegosaurus looks 'settled and pleasing to the eye', like an old valuable antique...and more pricey-look than the repaint one. We cannot control SS to do the commercial policy...I'm not sure I like it...but maybe it can proof that how better the originals are...

I agree with the godzilla, but the smaug looks pretty good to me.

Now go to Sideshow's offices and say that to their faces.

I like the differences in both the new paint apps, it makes them look awesome. I personally like the older Trex but the new Steg looks sweet, love the colouring on her bone plates too. Hey just my opinion, not fact

The new Stego coloring is definitely more in line with all the paintings and toys I had growing up. Not sure why but they always had orange plates and earth tone skin. And while I prefer the older paint job (btw.. how great is it we get to argue about different interpretations!) the new one definitely holds a place in my heart.

First post here, I saw this T-Rex and waited . . . then saw the Stego and Triceratops and ordered all three together. Then I went nuts and ordered some of the repaints, good reward points offer of 10%, I guess . . . . luckily I have the space for them all under glass . . . I never saw any of the Dinosauria line in person, I went by some of the positive comments on this board, hope their worth it.

Yeah man I was really tempted to pick her up. Looks amazing but might stick to just the TRex though. Besides, gotta make wallet space for all those PFs lol

I'll see what I can do, but it looks like it will some months before they ship out.

That's quite a haul man, congrats! Displayed together under glass will make it a beautifully displayed collection. As for them being worth it, I'm sure you will be pleased. If not, I have a strong hunch that once Jurassic World film is released next summer(?), the interest in dinos in general will explode, & prices for these statues will increase, or at the very least keep their value. So really no risks involved. I pray that the dino interest reaches fever pitch, so we can get a whole slew of other offerings regarding this wonderful line.

Can someone explain to me how in one release they're a "maquette" and then they're re-painted and re-issued as a line of "statues". They *are* the exactly same sculpt/size yes? Is this just to introduce new fans to the line and for those who have missed out on the original release? But then they release a new Rex entirely as part of the new "statue" line, to entice completist collectors to purchase the other Dino's all over again, so they match the new Rex? Haha

Sadly, because this line has not taken off as dinophiles & SS had hoped, it seems that by re-releasing past sculpts with different paint apps, which is way more cost effective for SS, allows the line to continue, for now. Once Jurassic World movie is finally released, it will be the barometer for which SS will weigh the validity for this line to continue, or not. I truly pray that the film will be a fantastic one, & spur people's interest in dinosaurs once again.

Until they start pumping out actual JP stuff, I don't think most people are going to buy SS originals who don't already from the movie hype alone. As much as I like some of their pieces I will wait for JP branded ones.

Actually I don't think it's 100% a 'GOOD NEWS' when they pump out the dinosaurs in the name(brand) of JP...because it needs extra license fee, which means the price will be MORE higher than we can imagine so far. $350~400 for a dinosaur is a bit way too much...but when they come with the title JP...it may go up to $450~$500 or more...but the quality is still the same as usual, it won't be better just because we pay another $100......So to be honest, I'm not quite sure if I do want this JP things happen. Remember...once the price go higher...it NEVER goes back.

I'd still go for JP and I really hope they could bring it back with JW coming next year I was pissed that only the one diorama Came out it's hard to find Good JP items but I'm happy I was able to get it if say that's my Grail in my entire collection it would be the last to go if I had to sell stuff off I just hope a company will pick up JP/ JW with reasonable prices not like the prime 1 studio prices

No way the JP license alone jacks them up $100 a statue. $50 maybe, and that would be worth it. I prefer the SWS designs to the Sideshow ones. As a huge JP fan back when I was a kid I had everything with JP on it, but sold most of it years ago. I would like to have some high end stuff now to better fit the rest of my collection. The current SS dio I don't care for, mostly for the paint and size, but if I found a deal on one I would still pick it up to repaint.

Well, I always felt that the weakest aspects of the dinosauria line were the paint apps, minimizing the relatively good sculpts. Hoping the new paint-up versions finally do the works justice, & of course all new & future releases. I also hope that they can bring back the services of the mighty David Krentz, as well as possible others(?), with Shane Foulkes, & Sean Cooper being on my wish list. Come on Sideshow, if you are going to revive this line, pull out all the stops & lets go for it!!!!!! Please.
