I already reported him to eBay and SS, eBay notified me back saying they will investigate and because of the privacy policy, they cannot tell me the results. But they did say it will end in either removal of items and suspension of account, they also said that they will contact SS to see if they will take legal action or just a simple stop and pull. We'll see.

Why are you quoting my post from 4 months ago? :lol

I agree with you to an extent in that I did get a figuremasterles spiky Hicks headsculpt. However, since he did a mod that improved the figure over what was originally released, I'm good with it. I don't think it's right to knowingly buy a recasted piece that is basically a carbon copy of the original limited piece, like the Wolf Bio or Alien Warrior 1:1 bust in order to save money from buying the real thing. It encourages stealing and increases the chances of people unknowingly buying a fake, thinking that it's real.

I dont look at the dates :)
I think selling recasts is fine as long as you state its a recast.
It shouldnt be overdone either...as a favour to a friend is fine I think.

Recasting is douchy as ____. People who support them should be ashamed of themselves. You're basically stealing food out of someones mouth, that they worked hard for, and eating it. It's disgraceful.

well, unless the original company/artist that made it doesn't exist in retail anymore. they don't see a dime from the secondary market either. but in cases where the original satues/kits are still being made and sold, sure.

Im 100% happy with my Kyle Reese recast head sculpt from figuremasterles.
I think youre just overreacting, nam.

He's referring to those people who recast legit pieces and sell them as original, namely the Alien Warrior 1/1 busts.

i usually find the people that own the original non recats piece get more pissed when theres a recast of that product they own, but regardless, its not right to recast, but i can see why someone would buy one of those aliens busts that sell for over 3k.

Recasting is not ok

I have to completely disagree.
Being a customiser, its just something that has to be done.
I dont see the problem with it to be honest.
the only time i think its wrong is when its done for the wrong reasons(selling it off as an original or just selling a load of them to make money from)

No, stealing is stealing. Recasting and adding or modifying, no matter how little or how much, and selling for a profit is still stealing. I don't like calling people thieves, but in this case, that's what happened. And buying from a thief is supporting that. I don't care how happy you are with it.

Not just that, in general.

Judging from nams comment, its pretty obvious that hes against recasts completely.
He cant be referring just to those people who recast legit pieces and sell them as original as he replied to my comment in which i said "I think selling recasts is fine as long as you state its a recast."
nam obviously has a big problem with recasts all together.

Its not really stealing though because its simply making a duplicate copy.
Its quite different to stealing.
As I said, I support recasts in certain circumstances, but not all.

Well, yeah. It's like duplicating a CD and selling it. So you're making money off the base item, when in fact you're selling something that's not authentic. Don't know enough about customized recast heads, since I've never bought any, but that's how it seems.

several people on here have bought a recasted item atleast, eventhough they say its wrong
i would expect so. recasts are just more prevalent and readily available than originals in many cases. and you can't always expect sellers to be upfront about it. especially on ebay.

If you copy something that you didn't pay to make (or make yourself), and sell it, that's stealing. Period.

But stealing from whom? The pieces are long sold out...who's the money going too? I'm not advocating this...but the only people who're making money off the products are the seller.
