I haven't found a youtube link for the clip yet, but if you clink the link at the bottom of the post you'll find it there.

Looking pretty cool so far

IGN's very own Chris Carle moderated Saturday's panel for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D at San Diego Comic-Con. Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) directs this long-awaited video game movie sequel, which sees original cast members Sean Bean, Rhada Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger reprising their roles from the 2006 film. Bean is also joined in the cast by his Game of Thrones "son" Kit Harington, who unfortunately had to cancel on his SDCC appearance due to a broken ankle.

Bassett was joined onstage by his leading lady Adelaide Clemens, who plays the older version of Sharon/Alessa from the original movie. Now almost 18 and living on the run with her stepfather Christopher (Bean) under the assumed name of Heather Mason, she finds that her continuing nightmares about a place called Silent Hill are actually premonitions. The forces of darkness have sent their agents after Heather and Christopher and soon they are drawn back to Silent Hill. Genre icons Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and Malcolm McDowell (Halloween, A Clockwork Orange) co-star as Claudia Wolf and Leonard Wolf, respectively.
A red band scene was shown to Comic-Con attendees at Hall H. But why waste time describing all that when we could just showed you the clip instead?

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D opens October 26 via Open Road Films.

And here's a few tidbits from the panel

The panel, recapped by Konami’s Comic-Con blog, revealed a few fun details about the film. One such story was how Heather actress, Adelaide Clemens, prepared for each scene of the film. Apparently Ms. Clemens would scream before scenes as to get herself in the right psychological mood of a terrified girl. Producer Samuel Hadida said the DVD of the film might contain a “scream reel” of Adelaide’s scene preparations. That could be pretty amusing; I hope it makes it in.

As for the real hard hitting bits of info, let’s start with Bassett’s experience with the Silent Hill series. In the panel, Bassett explains that he has been a fan of the series for many years and that he will be approaching the film as a fan first. “I’m a fan first. I’m trying to make it pure. We didn’t just do this in isolation, we talked to Konami to make it right.” said Bassett, easing fans a bit.

Bassett also declared his fondness of live actors and puppetry when it comes to making scenes feel real. This line was in reference to one of the new creatures that will be in the film: a mannequin monster with multiple, spider-like appendages. Unfortunately, this creature has not been shown to those outside of the panel.

I give props to any director that prefers the grounded appearance of puppets in horror films. CGI just won’t cut it most of the time. The Thing, one of the best horror films of all time, did incredible things with real, in the room, puppets. CGI, as seen in The Thing‘s fairly recent prequel, just doesn’t have the same effect. I’m glad to hear that Bassett and I see eye to eye on this matter.

Bassett also goes into how the film is both a sequel to the first film while also being an adaptation of the third Silent Hill game. He also wanted to reassure fans that many series’ staples such as the lore and psychological aspects will be present in the film. Some Easter Eggs have also been put into the film as a treat for long time fans of the series.

Awesome that he's going with more practical effects for the monsters.

I am so absolutely going :rock

I can bet two things, one you have will Pyramid Head Actors coming at you at the end of the house, the last room of the Maze,
and second, There will be a room full of mannequins dressed as Nurses and a couple of real actresses as nurses going to scare you when you least expected, because they did that exact thing in 2008 in Florida, they had a room full of zombie mannequins and 3 actors, Scared the F__ S__ out of me,

Not getting a scary vibe from the clip.

But hey, John Snow in Silent Hill. That's not going to be distracting. :lol

the clip did look very crappy, it did, it was the lighting that made it look bad, too bright, I don't know, that scene was weird, I loved the sound though, the sound is pretty good

There's a new poster with a new monster design on it that came from sdcc. Cant find a link to one, Anyone here seen it?
