Once I finish working that mask and make the new mold for mass replication, I'll be doing the ax cut version as well to go with my Bloody Nightmare Jason and any movie paint up people want.

I'll be making myself the whole line up from 3-7, even Roy's.

Juicy! haha. Nice job, Nathan!

Thank you, TD. I work hard to make it so.

And thanks Cheungkinmen. I can't wait to make a part 4 style mask with blood and ax cut for that version.

do you get to keep the paint ups you did, or does the company do something with them?

When a company pays me to paint something, they are sort of buying it back from me. Some companies only require one prototype, others want two or three of each. I rarely see the protos again, and the ones that get sent to China sadly end up in pretty bad shape from all the mishandling.

The proto I did for the Green Trooper was a one off because it wasn't originally intended for production. But because they liked it so much, and the Clone line was doing well enough, they decided to run it. For all I know, the actual Green Clone I painted is in a pile of broken crap somewhere in China now.:dunno But I've got my pics and a great figure to show for it.

it makes sense, but it really stinks you can't keep them. That would be really cool. Or at least get a free one when the product comes out.

At any rate I hope to have something done by you in my personal collection some day.

Since Sideshow has released Cody and the Siege Trooper, I see no harm in showing these old pics of my trial project now. It's not really any different than me doing my own custom paints on existing figures today and posting them, so I hope the powers that be are cool with it.

Keep in mind as you look at these that I painted this two years ago, even before Waxer and Boil. I think I've improved a lot since then, but wanted to post these in my thread anyway.

The Cody head was also part of my trial project, but wasn't used as a proto because Josh SmallStudios Smalls had already done the proto head paint for Cody. Also my paint up was a bit orangey (one of my first attempts at a translucent paint up), and my eyes aren't horrible, but they aren't crisp either. It wasn't until I did a test paint on General Hawk that I ended up with the 1/6 heads gig.

These pics are also from my early 'suck at photography' when I was using a gray towel as a backdrop. This was also before Sideshow had switched Clone undersuits to the new fabric they all come with now.

Except for some of the random dirt and the yellow & brown rust on the helmet, I think China did a perfect job of capturing what I did with this piece.

Dirty, yes. I tried to make it as close to the digital references from LucasFilm as I could. When I say 'random dirt', I'm not talking about my application of it.

Yikes, that thing is f'n dirty. . . haha.

I don't know if you know this, maybe you were just copying the reference, but why would his 'ears' be all rusty and dirty like that??

All the Clone helmets in Ep III had really rusty looking "ear" areas for some reason. I've often wonedered why that would happen there and not anywhere else.

Here's a pic I found online that shows this guy pretty well with the rusty area.

Here's the website I found it on, along with lots others, all with rust there. Weird. :dunno https://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-rots-clone-trooper-armor.htm

My application of the yellow looks a little heavy in my pics. Now I wonder if I really went overboard, or if the camera picked it up more than the human eye. Too bad I can't look at the original piece again.

Just got this in the mail from Trevor today. Man am I excited to do this one!:clap I think this will be my Sunday for myself project this weekend.

I'll be painting her to eventually go on a different body, but here's how nice it looks on a Hot Angel body without paint.:yess:

Anybody have any suggestions for clothes???

Thaaaaaat is awesome. I can wait to see your work on this one, especially since I know you'll make that endo eye "pop" like on Marcus :rock

I was thinking of trying to light it up, but I did like the Marcus eye effect, and will probably just go with that instead of hasselling with wires and batteries, especially if I go with a naked arrival version, as brilliantly suggested by Buttmunch.

But I think I'll want to try to pull it off even more convincingly than this..

Considering she's a Terminator, clothes are optional :lol

Just finished this for WGP today. This really turned out to be a great piece. Darren McGavin as Carl Kolchak, the Night Stalker.

Check out the William ShatnersToupee thread for all the info about it.

I rubber coated the inside of the hat to increase the friction to prevent the hat from sliding off the back of his head.
