Frickin' incredible work, Nathan. I'm especially floored by the smirking sculpt, actually. I've always been on the fence about that particular sculpt, but I'll be damned if your paint doesn't make me want it now. :thud: Really like the kryptonite effect you achieved with the crystals as well, perfection!

Major congrats DM! :hi5:

Thanks Dane! Yeah that smirking sculpt has a great Reeve likeness as well! Perfect for an evil supes! You cant lose either way!

Did you want the smirking sculpt to be evil as well? I can see it being a good representation of an early stage in his downward spiral, like when he blows out the Olympic torch. I don't have to do much to the face, but I should lighten the hair a tad. I thought you were going to use the smirk as an alternate for your good Superman.

Evil Superman would be even better if he had a sound chip inside that could shout, "What are you looking at! Huh!"

amazing work but did you repaint the hot toys eyes or not?
:)

Didn't need to. Viva did repaint the eyes to achieve a very sinister glare, but Christopher Reeves never did that with his eyes. All the intensity of Evil Superman was in the tightness of his face.

The challenge in evilling up the HT head was in finding ways to make a normal expression look tight, tired, and mad. Using paint, I relied on classic makeup tricks to deepen lines to make him look worn and to accentuate any downward lines he had. Deepening shadows made him look unhealthey. And the scowl lines between his brows are almost nonexistent in the sculpt. It's mostly painted illusion.

Incredible! Nathan strikes again!

Good god, man. That is amazing!:clap

Thanks guys. It has become one of my favorite projects. Superman turning bad is my favorite moment in all of the Superman movies.

My bad. My wife had both Evil Superman projects and the Sosa sculpt on the shelf together, so I thought it was for one of the Evil Supermans. I thought it was somebody elses, but then you commented on it, and I thought it was actually yours, or that I had missed one somewhere.

My wife just reminded me smirking Superman is Rishi's. Duh. :cuckoo: This is why I need my wife's help keeping track of all the commissions. I seriously would not have been able to turn this into a business without her.

Yes, Rishi, this one is yours.:wave Thanks for the PM. Sorry for the confusion.
